I had the vintage large screeech when I was a kid and that bird was amazing. I thought the smaller size birds were just accessories and we'll be getting the real deal later. They were considered a stand alone figures of their own back then so I assumed we would get the vintage size birds later down the line. I hope they make the large size birds. They will fit so well with the rest of MOTUC series just like the vintage ones did.
Screeech needs to be able to grab a Heroic fool by the shoulders and carry him/her off to the Tar Swamp! The puny Screeech we have could never do that so yes please to giant birds.

Mr Shokoti, that is so wrong!
Maybe that's how Sorceress carried the baby Teela around until MAA became foster dad.![]()

Personally I happy with the size of the birds in MOTUC so far.

no. dont want them large.
as they are is perfect.
Having recently gotten Screeech, my first time with the mold, I'm pleased with it. It probably helped that I completely forgot he came with Evil Lyn.
That said, I wouldn't be opposed to a giant Screeech, with wings that can fold in for being perched, maybe even spring loaded claws to grab figures with. Something that looks as menacing as the original box art.
Read My Automotive Blog at Rich Rambles!
I would be down to get a giant robotic Screech cause he appeared in the cartoon, but no giant Zoar, cause he doesnt really exist. giant screech.JPG
Nope. They were horribly out-of-scale in the vintage line and I'm very happy now that they're scaled accordingly.
Jitsu should have had his 200X belt!!!
When this line has tigers large enough to ride and dragons who stand several stories high, why are giant birds wrong? I can understand a preference, but this isn't G.I. Joe where it adheres, for the most part, to reality. It's a world full of barbarians, spaceships, cyborg cowboys, and snakes with arms & legs(although isn't that just a lizard?). Anything goes. A giant bird might be more realistic, imo, than most of the other toys from this franchise.
I will support the big birds. I want stronger birdy ankles than they had in the original line though...as I remember I had several large footless birds on thier backs around castle greyskull.![]()
Goat-Man---Goat-Man---Goat-Man
Giant birds aren't wrong but Zoar and Screech weren't giants. The scale of the vintage toys got it wrong just as it did with over-sized vintage Orko. The Classics line corrected the scale for all three and I'm very happy about that. If any of them were depicted in the comic books or cartoons as large as Granamyr, I'd say bring it on. I'm sure most fans wouldn't want a 7 inch Granaymr because like the previously mentioned three, he wasn't originally depicted that way. Why should Mattel waste tooling dollars on oversized Zoar and undersized Granamyr when they know full well, that very few collectors will prefer them over the correctly scaled versions?
I think you found the most logical and easiest solution.

nope. This "in scale" Zoar makes zoar a toy I want. A big one? Nope, not at all.
I stand corrected! A few vague references of an over-sized Zoar in comparison to the 100+ episodes we saw the correctly scaled Zoar appear in justifies the expensive commitment for a minority that want them? I don't think Mattel will have much faith in this idea, and I could understand why. Screeech on the other hand wasn't even drawn correctly in Filmation. The toy Falcon was already in existence but Filmation decided to make him a robotic bird instead, so his one time use(Filmation version) probably doesn't look too appealing(from a financial aspect) to Mattel either, and I could understand why.
My point is that this line already has a Zoar and a Screeech that most fans are happy with. There wasn't a major backlash by most fans about the scale of these two Falcons. Meanwhile, the line is probably at its halfway point and we still have MANY characters that have yet to be made, unlike Zoar and Screeech.

In the LP story record, Man-At-Arms was riding on Zoar's back. The wingspan was 16' feet long, IIRC. The birds WERE probably supposed to be bigger birds at first, but they eventually became regular sized.
Just to show I'm not blinded by nostalgia or find Filmation perfect, I don't like what they did with Zoar. I liked Zoar as a giant, male figthing falcon. I didn't like him as the altered state of a werebird Sorceress.
While it may very well be true that "most fans" dislike the idea of larger birds, I feel that is an impossible fact to prove. As much as some people feel otherwise, not every MOTU fan posts on or even visits this forum. They were either banned, left of their own accord, or had no desire to visit it in the first place. As for those who do post here, not every single one has posted their opinion on this matter. There have been quite a few "fan favorites" that didn't sell well along with several "despised characters" who sold out quickly.

I guess you or someone else who may feel otherwise could always ask Scott via WTFWTK to find out if this is fact or if they are quietly being inundated with emails and negative comments about Zoar and Screeech at the conventions. I have read comments about all MOTUC figures from various online forums besides the ORG. I also listen for displeasure from online reviewers as well as comments about these reviews and I see the majority as being happy with the current Classics versions of these Falcons.
Honestly though, it seems logical for fans of the over-sized vintage versions to just buy them online. The sculpts hold up well today and it keeps this "tiny, tiny, tiny" and limited collectible line from using precious tooling dollars to remake something we already have.
By the way, where did you get those pictures of the baby snatcher from?

In my storyboards, Zoar is very big, like He-Man is big, like Battle Cat is a big cat ..Zoar is a big bird.
She is a deffender of GreySkull, but oppositely to Skeletor who uses blood magic to protect snakemountain, the Scorceress uses rock magic or strength to deffend GreySkull.

Would Anybody be intreasted in a robotic version of Screech as he appeared in Filmation. I know he has been drawn out of proportion in the cartoon series, but it kinda falls in the same territory as toy Zoar and cartoon Zoar. The Screech we already have belongs to Evil Lyn, and as effective as he is, Skelator wants one for himself this creating the one seen in the Filmation series. Screech could come with a Skelator Varient.
