I think that could potentially be an awesome idea for Stinkor. He could still retain his orange cuffs and show off his skunk-inspired fur.

He will go on my shelf, but in the grand scheme of things he is with Mo-Larr in the have to own factor.
AHHHHH! This is EXACTLY what crossed my mind when I got him in hand! Boy that would be awesome! Oh well, one can dream.....

My Carnivus arrived missing his cat head belt buckle. It just has a T shaped post where it would be glued. I didn't even notice, my wife saw it and said - "what's the T stand for? Thundercat?"

It's not worth it to send it back for replacement to me. I guess I'll just sand it down and pick a jewel from Hobby Lobby and glue it in place.

Carnivus is actually a great figure! I wasn't thrilled about getting him, but I was pleasantly surprised once I got him open.

He is also another quality figure in terms of joint tightness and paint apps. My only complaint I guess would be his fur color, which I think is just a bit dull and bland, and like Whiplash has no highlights/shading. And I still think his buckle looks more like a snake head, especially the mouth and fangs, but that's forgivable.

I almost like him better w/out his cape too, so that's cool and worth noting. So all in all, he's really another great addition to the MOTU-verse!

Ok I just checked, and he does. It's kinda faint, but maybe I was thinking of another figure? Either way, Carnivus' fur color leaves a bit to be desired, imo, which some shading/highlights could have helped with.

Looks cool I think! Almost wish I had a extra He-Ro and Chief to keep him this way!
That looks AMAZINGLY COOL! He-Ro actually looks more heroic in that armor. I like the painted gold torso with that armor. Has a nice classic look to it, that would work well with other MOTUC figures.

Carnivus is pretty rad. Although, mine came with the shield loose. The anime/manga hair doesn't look quite as bad as I expected. All in all, I give him a definite thumbs up. That Eternia playset homage on his shield ties him nicely into the old toyline. Sorta wished he had some gimmicky device but it doesn't detract from his feline and feral supercool.

Got Carnivous, and he is indeed a better figure than the prototype lrd me to believe. THe style used matches the MOTUC look quite well, and the strands of hair aren't "anime," nor is the face sculpt. I think he fits in quite well with the line, and hope that means some other sentient species we haven't seen in figure form before will be coming before long.

Man, I am running out of jokes for these things.

Anyway: I love 'em! I wasn't really looking forward to him (though I wasn't against him either) but now that I have him in hand, I'm real impressed! His limbs are all rubbery for some reason, but at least that means they aren't loose. He holds a pose really well, and he looks awesome! The shoulder armor doesn't get in the way at all. Great figure!

I've got to disagree. I took a good close look at the face, and it does have a sculpted trangular cat's nose on the face. The kind of nos that a snake doens't have.

I did notice that the cat's head looks like a completely separate piece from the rest of the belt, so they could easily sculpt a small snake's head and replace it with the cat's head for King Hsss 200x version. Though he would still have the furry undershorts, which would look a little wierd.

    Got my Carnivus Friday and...

Well, I'm mighty upset. Oh, he's a good/great figure, ect ect, but I've finally been bit by the poor production bug.

Mine came with so many paint app flaws, and in actuality they look more like paint scrapes, that I think I have to get a replacement If I can.

I can right? I havent had to do this yet, and it really really upsets me because I dont want to have to. If it came down to it and they only offered a refund, I'd keep him. I want the character.

His cape clasp (red circle) has a very obvious large scrape, same with the red circle on one side of his sword. His Cat Head belt buckle (which does look very stylized cat to me, not so snakey like I feared) is glued on crooked, one side deeper set than the other, and it's not "pushing all the way in" so it looks like it's looking off to one side. And the worst to me.

His chest armour, so pristeen and gold and solid, is mared by a couple of deep scrapes. Not only the paint gone, but the plastic itself is impressed. That I cant abide.

I could take off the belt buckle, paint the sword and cape (and the loincloth now I notice it has a paint scrape as well) but that chestplate looks so perfect in the pics, I cant stand to see the marring. And no, I dont want "battle damage" heh.

So what do you suggest? SHould I call? hows it work, any advice is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like I dont need to be scared of getting the same, or worse, as a replacement. But I dont want to putty his chestplate then try to colour match and repaint it.

I'd post pics but A) I havent figured out how (yes I'm a member of the Org) and B) my camera's charger is lost so it's dead for now.

    Again, any advice?

Frankly it looks like it was dropped on the floor and steped on accidentally before the packed it and sent it off.

at least I have a Gygor comming tomorrow. Now if only Mattel would ship my subscription figure to my address rather than me trying to convince UPS MONTHLY that they can hold my figure for me at their delivery location for pick up (their phone service is terrible too) I'd be happier.

At least (part 2) I bet if I get a replacement they can mail it to my proper address. Since changing my subscription address is wildly impossible in their world.

At first, I thought about keeping or selling my Chief Carnivus. But since I saw so many wonderful pictures and detailed photos of the figure which convinced me, I am really impressed and decided to add him to my MotUC collection.

If someday Lord Dactys, and Ceratus appear as MotUC, I don't have to be angry about not possessing Chief Carnivus, and all the leaders of the Eternian folk tribes are complete.

The belt emblem is definately feline. It's stylized but very panther like. Almost like the face on a Jaguar hood ornament. It could almost be an updated version of the front of the Thundertank too.

I was originally thinking about selling off my 2 subscription Carnivuses. I just wasn't willing to play the quality control lottery game that you play every time you open a figure. I eventually broke down and opened one of them and he turned out great. So now I only have to deal with selling 1. Unfortunately, since I won this round of the quality control game the next 5 figures I open up will probably be craptastic.

After looking at some of his new parts, I really hope they use his calves to give us a hairy Stinkor and his feet would be great for Felinor.

Picked my sub up from the UPS store on Saturday. My wife asked why they put Thundercats in the MOTU line. Explanation of the character followed.

Finally got around to opening one today. The one I left in package looks perfect. I opened the one that had the sword placed in his hand wrong (sharp side facing the top of package). Noticed straight away why it was placed in there this way, the red paint from the jewel is all over the hilt and there is a big gold paint bubble on the jewel. Nothing I can't fix with an xacto & some paint though.

Thie figure and the shield are awesome. I dig how his feet make him taller than all the other figures. The shield is awesome, did I mention that?
I've got him on my desk at work for the moment. One of our production assistants just walked into my office and asked if he was a modern version of Lion-O and didn't remember him ever having a cape. Explanation of the character followed.

So, lots of mistaken identity for ol' Chief Carnivus it seems. Makes me sad the 4H aren't doing the new Thundercats (Bandai has the license for figures).

I'm liking this figure much more that I had thought I would. Having him in hand and seeing him next to other MOTUC figures makes all the difference.
He'll go on the display at home fighting Marzo and Gygor. He needs allies though, so bring on Dactus, Cerratus, and the Kulatak leader from MYP (at some point).

Oh, and the shield is awesome!

It is a cat's head of some sort (although it does look snake-ish). It looks exactly the same in the cartoon.

which brings me to my one fault with my Carnivus!

The 'face' on his buckle is a separate piece, and on mine is on an angle and not straight! its pointed to the left hip!

NOT HAPPY! but it wasnt visible in package cos' his sheild, sword and hand blocked it! grrr!

My Carny just arrived. He is really sweet.

No joint problems on this one. I did notice that he is primarily made of a more rubber material that Keldor and Marzo. I like this, because he feels more like a toy- I don't feel like I am going to break him.I love how his torso armor works. I now see how that idea could be used to reused the Beastman or Hiss buck to make Evilseed and give him his shoulder spikes.

The loin cloth and cape are even softer than those on Marzo. If only the Goddess dress were made of the same material. Glad to see that Mattel is improving the plastic used.

Minor imperfections not really worth mention- extra dark pain splotch on his foot and belt buckle piece was not glued securely. A scratch of the craft knife and a dot of superglue will make Carney perfect.

Looking forward to Greyskull, Bow, and Vikor to round out the good guys.

    NOT HAPPY!
You could probable take a hair dryer and warm up belt area enough to loosen the glue to pry the buckle off, then reposition it. It is an easy fix.

He`s a very nice figure, but he stands in one of the lower shelves.

Well, I finally got my Carnivus opened and the only complaint I have is that he was holding his sword w/ his right hand?!?!?!?! I mean, everyone knows that male cats are typically left handed!
I switched the sword to his left hand and now all is good.
