    let him speak...

No question..... Cringer *needs* to talk.

The movie would and should base itself more off the history of the original classic series more than anything else - what's near and dear to our hearts. I don't mind if it emphasizes the action aspect or razzle-dazzle special effects, but what worked for "Masters" was that it could play so tongue in cheek with itself every once and a while - with the fantastical elements - something Michael Bay couldn't even dream of.

I agree with Mr. Shokoti and TechTrek ~ Eternia's a world full of magic and I see no harm in having a talking green tiger! After all - we're talking about Adam/He-Man's best buddy! Cringer became known for his sass and his hesitant quips. He provided some wonderful comic relief and still can if it's done well and gently (i.e. NO Gilbert Gottfried anything).

"Masters" was magical for us growing up and it will and should be magical again and for the next generation as well.

I wouldn't mind if we could hear cringers thoughts (voice over) but I don't think he should be able to talk.

I honestly don't think they should talk, in the tv series it is ok, but not live action.

neither should talk, its not needed. if anything, prince adam/he-man just have a connection to the animal where he understands his steed, but no talking animals.

No thanks. It would turn it into a Disney or animated movie. I want this movie to be more adult and less kid friendly.

I choose: Cringer & Battle Cat Should Talk!
Because: Talking Cringer & Battle Cat add personality for character and gives audience more clear picture what happening.

Steeds don't have to speak to prove their loyalty and can still be treated as characters without dialogue.

Personally, I would have him speak. However, it’s not really essential. With state-of-the-art CGI they way it is now, they can easily get across his and Adam's/He-Man's close relationship without any speech.

Neither Cringer, nor Battle Cat should talk in a new MotU movie.

they shouldn't talk. look, i LOVE filmation...but the reason they had cringer/BC talking is so you could have dialogue between him and he-man for the purposes of spelling things out for children...putting that in a movie takes away a lot of dignity. give BC lots of personality, definitely, but BC never really had anything terribly important to say...in a motu movie i think we're all going to want a lot of story and character explored...there's going to be enough plot and dialogue to work out that having BC speak is totally unnecessary.

    Cringer....Yes
    Battle Cat...NO!

For the sake of me wanting such an adult themed movie I DO understand that when a project like this is green lit, the Powers that be will want a movie that can work across all the boards for all ages; it brings in more money and leads to more He-Man!!!

As I remember from the podcasts' the theory was presented what if Cringer/'Cat had something of the Hulk scenario going on? And this is the one I absolutely agree with. BUT, I actually would take a step further and suggest the Bruce Banner / Mr. Fixit combination! In theory: Cringer is the 'frady' cat and that works well with the way Adam composes himself. So when he is He-Man; Battle Cat would be something of ferocity, attitude and fearlessness, sort of a "I'm out of my cage" persona yet more primal.

I think this could work for a live action movie and maintain a balance that most could appreciate.

Cringor is the true voice of He-Man, the cat shows the fear that Adam will not.

He-Man also needs to talk to his pet, as though anyone with an opinion could hear.

how about just making he-man a complete character who can express fear on his own...and he-man already has teela, duncan and orko to talk to...a lot of people speak to their pets or steeds...we don't need battle cat to talk back.

There are at least 2 or 3 points in my movie storyboards where Cringor talks and also Swiftwind has things to say.

There are many levels of life on Eternia and they need a voice.

talking animals in MOTU is arbitrary, not necessary.

I say sure why not. I agree though with a previous poster, not for comic relief....Many of the fantasy type movies feature animals that speak.

    I would lean toward no.
It could work if decent or distinctive voices provided Battle Cats speech.
Like earlier posters said Michael Madsen, Michael Clark Duncan, or Keith David could be intriguing.
Would A Boy and his Dog telepathy voice between He-Man & B.C. sound better than speech?
Having those three actors play live action roles would be best. Maybe they could multi-task and do two roles?

I could live with hearing cringors thoughts, but talking makes it all come alive.

I voted no. I would rather Battle Cat be some ferocious beast that He-Man semi-tamed. In my canon, Battle Cat only barely tolerates He-Man riding on him, and even attacks him at times. Like a real tiger.

that's depressing. if we're going to go that route, we may as well not have battle cat at all, because a real tiger would never tolerate someone trying to ride it.

You'd be close about battle cat attacking he-man, but only when cat is under a mind spell from skeletor.

    ..its all in my storyboards.
