Busta - you have the cels I been looking for from "Problem with Power"

Quick question, I know the set of numbers refer to show number and the second refer (I think) to the storyboard drawing cel, but what is the 3 set of numbers- is that the artist ID ?

Yeah, back in the day Lee Clevenger and I grabbed all the cels from "The Problem With Power" and "Sweet Bee's Home"...

I'll show off scans that Lee sent me back in the late nineties - They are pretty awesome!

The third refer to the cel number (i.e. the 6th cel of the animation sequence) - Sometimes they prefix it with a letter just to make it easier to identify...

WOW, Busta, after seeing your collection, particularly the "The Problem With Power" ones, I kind of hate you!

So who won the auctions that ended this past Sunday? The good ones with shots from the opening and such. I know it's gotta be some folks from this thread! I'm mainly curious about the one of He-Man holding his sword up, the up close-up one where you couldn't see the sword, just his body, because I tried to snipe that one (yeah, I admit it, I do it too!).

LOL - I better not post all the other cels from my collection!

Wanna know something even worse? - That cel from "The Problem With Power" was given to me for free...

I was SO confused about those auctions - The prices the pieces went for were 2001-2005 prices - They were ridiculously expensive - I managed to snag the Bow/She-Ra piece from "The Wizard" as I've been after one of those Sherri Wheeler-animated cels for many years!

The He-Man one wasn't worth much (I didn't see the final price) as it's only a cel from "A Beastly Sideshow"...

The thing is, like its been said a few times int his thread " the good cels are already picked over" So...when auctions come along like this with some good cels(in my opinion ) a lot of people jump on them. I've only been collecting cels a few years ,so i've missed a lot of chances prior to,so if I want something ,I have to pay, since a lot of the key pieces are in collectors hands and will stay there
I won a few from this weekend-including the Cringer-Battlecat quartet.
I'm willing to pay much more for pieces..heck i'm even thinking of trading some transformers or gijoe cels I have for the right motu pieces/backgrounds....

Here are some cels from Lee Clevenger's collection - I won't post full-res images because they're not for me to post - But you'll get the idea!

I'll see if I can dig out the images of his backgrounds, too...

If you can post the backgrounds even in med-res size, that'd be great.

It went for $219. I bid $215 and thought I had it for sure! And I figured it wasn't from the original transformation sequence, but still, close enough, and ya know, he was still doing his thing!

What I LOVE about this thread is that we see that the cels are in the hands of fans...and not casual collectors!

    I can totally appreciate that!

It most certainly is - I thought about bidding on that one, too - But I knew people would be after that like crazy, so I quietly retreated!

Not me. I tried for the Adora cel from PP1. The one when she holding the gun at He-man.

Man, am I envious of those who own cels from "The Problem With Power", especially ones from the scene where He-Man gives up his powers.

I have more, but the forum will only allow me to post 10 images at a time...

    And here are the rest...

This piece was actually not used in the episode; although it does appear in the storyboards...

THIS was the cel I was after more than anything...

Sadly, even though this is from THAT scene, I need a better He-Man head, which I doubt I will ever locate...

Yeah, it was VERY much a regular industrial warehouse--dark and dirty and NOT the magical and shiny place you'd picture/think those cels should be in! However, the guys selling the cels were as nice as could be!

It might be a dark place, but for a collector ---it's a gold mine!
