    Answers to WTFWTK 2.45!

Mattel has once again provided answers to your questions.
Thanks again to them for taking the time to answer these!
Check out their answers to your Round 45 questions!

This round of questions were selected by Sandman,
and proofed against old Q&As by Uncle Montork.
Thanks to them for their help!

    -------------------

    1. Captain Atkin:
The 1980s Masters of the Universe magazine had a comic with an original story that featured a cartoon version of Karg. Could this comic possibly count towards Karg being made as a MOTUC figure?

No. Just we as ask others to respect our trademarks and IP we respect the IP of other companies and are not interested in finding loopholes or ways to get around trademarks.

    2. Muscle of Grayskull:
When will it be officially revealed what the Mattycollector.com sale on November 29th will include?

Soon. There will be a combination of DC, MOTUC and GB product. Some will be reissues, some will be remaining customer service stock held from previous sold out items (like we are doing wit Zodac in October). This stock will be very limited.

    3. Sandman:
What is the current policy on figures that are 100% reused parts in the 1980's line?
For example, we now have every component that made up the vintage Stinkor figure except the armor. Is there any chance he could get the same kind of extra tooling that Moss Man did? Maybe an extra head, classicized versions of his 200X gas tanks or maybe even some new sculpting of another kind?

Fans many times inquire about “policy” or rules for the line. With the exception of retiring the 200X style, there really are not rules. Logistics, tooling budget and available resources determine things like this on a figure-by-figure basis. Not any overall “policy”.

    4. Coptur:
You've given us the name of the Caucasian Royal Guard “Lt John Spector." May we have the names of the African-Eternian, feline and reptile (what race is he?) guards?

We only named the Caucasian Guard as little inside joke since that figure has the “face” of our very own “Toy Guru”. He named the character after the figure he submitted to the 1987 character contest. We really wanted the guards to remain as generic as possible for as much customization, so the other “guards” have not been named.

    5. Carkrash:
We know a vehicle will be coming in 2011. Will the packaging on this vehicle have amazing art work, like in the vintage line, or will it be an open window like Battle Cat and Tytus, so MOC collectors can view the vehicle?

It is way too early to comment on this. A lot will come down to available logistics and resources when it comes time to tackle this SKU.

Solid answers. I like the idea of no overall policy or rules for the line. They shouldn't restrict themselves or the line in such a way. Variety is what has made the line so great.

I cannot keep myself from cracking up every time I read these Q and A's. I'm wondering if anyone has taken a count of the # of times that Mattel uses the word "LOGISTICS".............

To be honest I like all the answers over here than in MC.com forum. No offense but I'd see it that way.

its a shame the other three guards don't have 'official' names but i can see why they kept them generic.
But they could've confirmed the race of the reptile guy

I think it`s a normal human transformed in a snakemen, because the head looks more human, like in the 200x cartoon, where MAA, Mekaneck and Teela were changed by Hiss...

Wait. "Available logistics?" What does that even mean?

Should be pretty obvious, don't you think? How much money they can scrape together to make a certain size of vehicle, and how much materials as well.

They have to buy materials a long time ahead, and there can be shortages, perhaps a certain plastic is needed to make a vehicle and it's hard to make all the testing work in time, depending on how complex the vehicle is, ETC.

Yeah, I think we all know logistics means a ****-load of different things, but that's my best guess as to what this perticular use of the word means.
