The vinyl material makes the costume look cheap, and it makes anyone wearing it look cheap.

While I haven't seen the episode of Smallville in which that Wonder Woman costume is from(I haven't seen an episode since Zatanna's first appearance), it looks less like Wonder Woman and more like Xena's costume painted red & blue imo.
Yes, I'm saying a red and blue Xena costume is better than this costume. I think this one looks cheap. It looks like a halloween costume version of WW's costume, and that's worse than something trying to look more Greek (well Xena-Greek anyway, the magic of TV land). Also the boots are totally wrong, so this only even resembles WW's costume from the kid's plastic toy belt up. Smallville's GA disappears into shadows on the show as well as he does in comics in a green outfit. Highlights only help us see him.

Slippery slope, I'm sure, but I am sorry they did not cast Bridget Regan. Then again, maybe I should be glad she's still available if a better incarnation happens in a few years.

I like the costume! Except for legs, it's pretty close...

However, if I had my way, I'd use the Smallville costume and make the series based like Hercules the Legendary Journeys. Have Diana fighting Gorgons, Cyclopes and Hydras in Greek antiquity.

Other than with Mike Grell's Mature Readers run on Green Arrow(where his costume was dark green & muted), Smallville's the only time where GA's main way of combatting crime was as a poor man's Batman.

I'm not sure who she is, but isn't she a little old for Wonder Woman(at least going by that pic)? Palicki may not have been my first coice for Wonder Woman(although David Kelley wouldn't have been my first choice for a producer either), but I like that she has a rounder & less gaunt face than some of the possible choices. Besides making her look more Greek woman & less teenage girl, it also gives her a kinder looking face which, imo, is what Wonder Woman should have.

Regan was born February 3, of 1982 and Palicki was born May 6 of 1983 according to wikipedia.

Changing the boots does make a bit better, the pants need something else if they go that route. I would say lower the belt just a bit.

at 29, Regan's barely two years older than Palicki, and I think she should not look like a fresh faced kid as Palicki does. I don't like the round face for WW either, but I don't recall seeing any other choices for WW during the casting. As for GA, now you're getting into modus operandi. My point is, the costume isn't the eye-sore that this shiny WW one is.

I am so not one of those guys who treats women older than 25 as "over the hill", but I figured Regan was in her late 30's by looking at that pic.

Could be the difference in images and the lighting. But then there is that issue of hollywood 30 and real life 30.

    The top is...uh...excellent.

But let me think... Would I rather see blue Spandex pants or long silky, bare legs?

    That's how I feel. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. I'll give it a chance.

IMO, it's not any worse than the GL costume we've been seeing for the movie.

However, I do prefer the red boots. They'll likely make some changes before they film anything.

I agree on the vinyl 100%.

Now, this costume isn't terrible. I can get behind it, but there are a few changes I would like to see:

    1. Change the vinyl material to lycra, spandex, something like that (at least for the pants). If it doesn't look right for the top, go leather or something.

    2. Red boots. RED boots! All blue = ewww, visually. The white (or silver, which gbagok did) is a requirement too!

    3. Get rid of the star between her boobs. It looks awful. Red star on her tiara, inbetween her boobs and on her belt = too much. I can accept it on the belt, and even pants, but NOT the boobs.

Fix those, and I'll be on board (even though I prefer the "bathing suit" costume).

I was wondering if they were going to have to remove all the sounds of her moving around in the vinyl.

I'm down with this costume. It looks like a flashier version of the current Jim Lee costume, except no jacket and the pants are blue instead of black. The actress is stunning, she fills the part. I'm excited for the show, I even like the logo. I'll be watching.
