Horde 3-pack

Hey,

Every collector knows this legendary 3-pack never seen in picture.
A fellow collector told me he has already seen one in person during a comic con at the end of the 90's.
Imo that was a sample box and all the older and hardcore collectors I contacted told me : schedulded but never produced.
If anyone has the memory of having had one during his childhood or if he has a better picture of the pack has taken in the 80's, as he posts here.

It is a mattel catalog from 1986, Peter sold one on his website a few years ago.
I dont know where you can find one, sorry.

i still think this was produced.. its just one of those rare sets towards the end of the line and has not come to light.

the other sets were produced and only this one left out?

jet sled - he-man,
TC skele n FF he-man

POP gift sets,

remember the whole fiasco with the first evil warriors 3 pack and then boom, popped up, and the only one i might add.

if n when the horde 3 pack pops up on ebay.. it will be mayhem

I really hope you are right Carlo, but I am hunting it for many years, and all the hardcore collectors told me they ve never seen it before.
The only one who told me he saw it, I believe in his words without a doubt, but for me he missed the sample of it.

yep, but also keep in mind that also all hardcore collectors never saw the first evil warriors 3 pack, then it was on ebay and only one has appeared. same goes with the first heroic warriors 3 pack. i've seen only one.

the horde 3 pack may or not come to light.. unless mattel has them stored in some storage they forgot about

The only thing I've found that proves that this was even a concept was a picture from a catalog I found on Grayskull Museum. Is there ANY real proof this set existed?

I have been around a ton of collections and have never viewed it.....FF/Terror claws a few times, but never this three pack.....maybe a JC Penny thing?

Do you have any mailer that the figures came in? I assume this was through one of the department stores and mailed to customers.

As I'm going through the collecting stuff (slowly but surely)... I'm tempted to recommend this one be tossed into some sort of "Rumored but never produced" category.

I agree with you. After hearing about this pack for over 10 years now and never seeing any evidence I have given up hope. It has been a few years since a new discovery of this magnitude has been made so it makes me think that most of these mysteries are finally going to the graveyard. There are still some more estate sales to hit before totally giving up though...

A great collector and a friend of mine told me he saw one at the end of 90's.
And I believe in his words since he is very reliable.
He also told me he saw an US hordak mantisaur. But I cannot explain the rarity of this one since we know a few in Canadian releases.

It seems unlikely this thing was ever produced ... With everything that has surfaced to this day and still there's no sign of this 3 pack.

Like boba said, it was probably a sample for the showcase but who knows, maybe time will brings us more news from the past like the POG cards that surfaced recently

i certainly am looking forward to that.

You know what Bruno, that s exactly that. the collector who saw one, saw one in a convention at the end of 90's. And he also saw giants and lasers, us boxed.
That s probably samples, and unfortunately not good chances they will surface one day.

But I am still wondering why us hordak mantisaur is unknown...

I heard these same stories about all these figures and sets, so might be true might not, as for the horde 3 pack I feel there is one or some out there, look at the battle for eternia that popped up on goodwill site around 2 years ago there are still finds and still things out there just never know where you will find it or when I know I will look for one

Lasers on US cards? Oh man I want that.
The thing I like about the gift sets is the awesome new artwork made just for those sets. The Horde 3 pack isn't all that to me because it doesn't have any artwork on it, just the letters. But He-Man/Jet Sled, FF HeMan/TC Skelly, Hordak/Mantisaur, those are some sweet sets with great all new paintings.
