The Horseman haven't let us down yet! No reason to think that any POP character wouldn't bring the right style thats needed for the POP figures, getting rid of the poofy hair and girly accessories. BRING ON FROSTA!!!

sorry guys, but this kind of thread is a great delusion.

i usually enjoy the forum 'cos anybody may express his own opinion 'bout what likes or dislikes, and discuss starting from different points of view: but this discussion doesn't
seem to have any proactive intention, well, unless you believe that intentionally pis..ng on someone's else gate is somehow proactive.

I'm pretty sure like FIVE of these threads already exist...and I know I've read the OP from the same person a few times over.

Anyway, I'm not a fan of these threads in any form. Saying, or asking, what characters people do not want from MOTU/PoP/NA/200x isn't very productive and could hurt the potential for some figures.

Let's use Ram-Man as an example. If a lot of people go "we don't care for Ram-Man because every figure of him released to date has looked goofy, he's always characterized as stupid and I just think he's lame overall," Mattel might release him in 2016 because he requires a lot of tooling money and everyone's hating on him.

Obviously not many are hating on Ram-Man, but I hope he doesn't look goofy when released.

I like the threads about who we want to see in the line, who we think will be the best "surprised we love them character" in the line (which seems to be Bow for a lot of people right now), who we think is the least likely figure to be made who SHOULD be made, etc. Stuff like that is fun. Threads that are "I don't like X, so I don't want X, so screw all fans of X" are not nearly as fun.

I could live without most of the POP characters. As far as female characters I must have Sorceress and Queen Marlana. I'm going to be buying whatever Mattel makes so I'll be getting them when they come out butI wouldn't have to have most of them. I should add a Shadow Weaver in their even though she's off limits right now.

Of course. And some POP fans have felt so slighted that it blinded them to things they
should be happy for and appreciate. However terming something "their line" is a
factor that contributes to this boards divisiveness. So while a fan may have the right to
voice a view of their preferred choice of figures, I don't feel as if the OP is required to
ask or garner support for his line, considering the fact that his line is the most
represented and driving force behind Classics.

I'm not into the female figures that much either. More interested in females in real life myself.

I don't plain on buying many POP figures either since I am really not interested in most of them. Which is one of the main reasons I passed on next year's subscription. Although, I would like to see a few more made for the people who actually do care.

I'm not starting an agruement or am I stating something shouldn't be made. I'm asking if there is more out there like me. That's all. I'm not a fa of pop and can really careless if they are made. I'd rather the room or that month for motu.

    Sorry tally for this thread.

I'd personally would like to see this so that other characters from motu could get made before 2016. having two figures released each month is more reason to get excited.
I don't think splintering MOTUC into two (or more) distinct and separate collector lines is a very good idea. Given the huge success and fast-sellouts of the MOTUC toys, it is sometimes easy to forget this was a financially risky move to create MOTUC by Mattel in the first place.

We are lucky there are enough fans of the whole MOTU franchise, including POP, that wanted to see a line like this happen and were prepared to buy the figures in such numbers that Mattel execs could be kept happy.

If we start splintering the line, and thus effectively encouraging fans to specialise, it would inevitably result in fewer sales and could put the future of the line at risk. Most likely it would mean that a less popuplar sub-section of the MOTUC line may be abandoned (does anyone think there would be adequate support for a stand-alone NA line in today's market?) and those remaining unreleased figures not made at all.

Plus we have to consider a fail for a sub-brand may impact on Mattel support for the core brand.

The strength of MOTUC will depend on fans sticking with the line. That means if they make a ridiculous cyborg Skeletor (Goddess I hope they don't) I have to buy it (I don't have to open it however ) and other fans need to accept there will be female POP figures.

Let's hope that the female figures continue to sell out like they have so the execs at Mattel see there is $$$ in buying the Filmation rights and then there are so many more females on the table who MOTU-only fans may wish to purchase (Shokoti, Celice, Enchantress, Shadow Weaver, Valtira, etc).

I wholeheartedly accept PoP in MOTUC and I do feel there is too much of a gap between one female figure and the next. However, I would be very annoyed if Mattel chose to focus heavily on releasing females instead of spacing them out.

I think 4 females a year is the perfect amount. If you look at normal retail lines, such as GI Joe or Marvel Universe, they usually have 1 female per wave of 6 figures. Granted they have multiple waves per year, but if you look at the ratio and compare it to MOTUC, 4 female figures a year is acceptable

I want female characters more than a lot of the high profile characters we're still waiting for like Ram Man or Man-E-Faces.

Plus I'm still holding out hope that the Snake Men finally get a female of their own that isn't a boring Snake Teela.
Snake Men need a woman of their own too!

Proud supporter of the Snake Men.

I couldn't be less interested in any of the POP characters. The fewer we get of them, the happier I'll be.

That could be cool! I really have no desire to start getting Snake Men versions of the heroes. Maybe Snake Armor He-Man since that was a big deal for him, but leave Snake Man Teela & Man-At-Arms on the "cutting room floor".

Yeah, I don't especially care about POP females either. We we get some whatever I'll buy them. But Sorceress and Marlena are the ones I'd like most.

To anyone ragging on the OP - grow up. It's just a simple question asking who else agrees.

People keep bumping it though (you included).

Well, I could point out the several threads on this already, so the "only giving people a place..." thing doesn't hold water.

I could point out that if you "could care less", then you DO care.

    I could point out all the counter-threads (i.e., pro-female characters/pro-POP) to this.

Instead, I'll just point out that the thread starter, having made an anti-POP thread, has a corresponding pro-NA thread. You'd think that someone who wants a side-"era" *he* likes to be done more would understand the way MotUC works by now...

People need to relax to others opinions. If you don't like it do not post. Find something to your liking. Negative actions here will only hurt you.

So evidently after already creating a thread about the same exact
thing a few months back the OP found it necessary to grace us with round 2

Many fans weren't interested in the POP line or even the cartoons in their childhood so I understand that to them these figures may not mean anything and they would prefer an MOTU only line. That's obviously a valid opinion like any other...but I got to say that as loyal POP fan it makes me sad that many feel like this.

Bow is one of the best figures in the line imho. I love his design. Like Matty said yesterday in one of the faqs this line is aimed at adults, not small boys or small girls. I would suggest to those who really don't like POP to stop looking at the females (and Bow) as "girly POP toys" and to give them a chance. It's great that all figures are being made into the line in one and the same style. They don't have fabric skirts or rooted hair which is a cool thing imho as that makes the whole line homogenous within itself.

I am by no means saying that everybody should love POP characters, of course! There will always be collectors who don't love them, just like there are others who don't love 200X or NA and their opinion is equally valid as that of anybody else. But nonetheless I still hope that people give them a chance! Some of them are really cool characters as much as Wonder Woman or Black Canary imho!

can't we all just get along, & live with the fact that POP is included in this? I love all things MOTU including POP. *opens up arms for a group hug* c'mon, we need to do this.

I grew up thinking She-Ra was for girls and as a kid totally disregarded it. I bought the box sets when they were all being closed out here a few years ago, along with MOTU and NA.

I have to say, the world of She-Ra is a much more grim and serious place than MOTU every was, and I've found much of what is in She-Ra at times more entertaining than many of the old MOTU episodes.

And as you say, the figures being made now are no longer girl-centric. Other than those who only want what they had as a kid, I guess I don't understand the revulsion to girl figures in general, and POP figures specifically. Sure, having Bow show up is keeping Ramman away, but so is having Vikor and Carnivus and Marzo and Optikk. The arguing against POP seems much stronger than against any other non original line figures.
