The figures that can be produced are figures that were in the original MOTU, POP and NA lines, as well as in the mini-comics for these lines.
Characters that appeared in the 2002 MYP cartoon are also fair game.
Filmation characters are off limits!
Who will be produced will remain to be seen.
We will pick up to 5 questions we feel might get answers at that time. Please do not take offense to your question not being asked.
Also, we also edit questions to make them more concise, to be more specific, etc. Please take no offense to this either, as it's only meant to help.
It's nothing personal.
***Important note: Mattel has limited the questions to 5 from each site who submits Q&As.
Mattel has also asked not to submit figure inquiries about unannounced figures (eg: When will we see [insert character name])
Previous WTFWTK sessions (questions and Mattel answers):
This past round of questions were selected by Scorpia,
and proofed against old Q&As by Uncle Montork.
Thanks to them for their help!!!
The questions that were asked in the previous Q&A & will be answered in a couple weeks as follows (please do not repeat them, or questions from previous Q&As):
While you said you currently can't discuss any figures pass King Hsss, it was previously stated that the Faceless One was tentatively scheduled to be released in May 2011. Is that still the case?
You have revealed that the next NA figure will be a Galactic Guardian. Will you say whether or not this figure is one of the 4 A-List Variants we get in a year, or is he one of the regular 12 monthly figures?
After the Octavia answer in the latest round of questions, would this also mean Dylamug, who appears in the Tomart catalogue, is also off limits?
4. Count Marzo:
Any idea on what type of packaging can we expect the Weapons Rack and other "dioramas" to come in?
Would you ever consider including up-and-coming figures on the reverse of packaging? (ie, Bow and King Hsss on Buzz Off's cardback, the April figure on Vikor's cardback, etc). I think it would serve as a good means of promotion and whet fans' appetites for future releases in addition to the online and convention figure reveals.
So ask those questions!

In the past, you've said that doing a Sword of Power that matched Adora/She-Ra's Sword of Protection (i.e., the same design as the sword that came with those figures, minus the jewel) was out of the question. Considering that you've now said that you would consider doing an altered Sword of He with a future He-Man variant to give it a handgrip ala Triclops' sword, would you also seriously consider doing a Sword of Power, since "anything is possible"?
You've confirmed that Clamp Champ will not be coming in 2011. Can you name some OTHER characters who won't be in the 2011 line?

I hate to beat a dead horse, but this has to do with the lack of Keldor/Skeletor's 200X Dual Swords. Though most fans out there would disagree, we can accept (well, not really) that you don't want to do the swords because they were just the vintage version of the Power Sword done in the "200X, hyper anime" style. But, how did Whiplash and Buzz-Off get both of their weapons? I mean, the 200X weapon that comes with Whiplash is a spear with a blade at the bottom. Buzz-Off's 200X weapon is an axe with a blade similar to his vintage axe, but with a long staff/handle. How is it that Keldor's swords are off limits, but Whiplash and Buzz-Off's weapons were good to go.
I remember reading an answer to #1 already...Something along the lines that the Faceless One's date was tentative to show that they had plans to keep the line going...I'm sure "logistics," "it all is based on the story laid out in the bios," and "slip" were all thrown in somewhere.
And #2: "We cannot comment on figures past King Hissss."
In the vintage DC Comics Presents ... comic included with the Superman/He-Man DC vs MOTU 2pak, Beast Man refers to "Choloh's beard". Just as the "Unnamed One" was mentioned solely in one POG mini-comic, this seems to be the only reference to Choloh. Is the Matty team aware of and does Mattel have the rights to the "Choloh" character and has the Matty team given any thought to including Choloh (and the secret of his/her beard) in the MOTUC bio-storyline?

In a future weapons pack is it possible for us to get Battle Armor He-man's Armor in Gold? By that I mean the 3 plates, Front, and back pieces in gold were it was silver but keeping the "H" symbol and using the exact same mold to make it. Also probably throw in the He-man ax in gold to go with it if you want as well.

You stated in a recent Q&A that when you do get around to doing NA He-Man, he will be a bonus figure. From what was stated before that bonus figures are mainly repaints with very little new tooling. NA He-Man actually requires alot of new tooling such as his armor, shield, helmet and sword. Has anything changed as far as tooling on bonus figures?

Earlier this week, I received my Club Eternia Roboto figure in the mail. Then on Thursday, I received the second Roboto figure I ordered online on Oct. 15. However, the Roboto I received from the online sale came in a package with "The Original" starburst on the front, while the Club Eternia Roboto I was automatically shipped came in the standard first-run packaging.
Was this simply a random mistake in the packaging process, or did more Roboto figures than that one of mine accidentally get packaged with "The Original" starburst?
I do not want to criticize King Hsss figure here - I love it as it is and I do not ask for any chnges in the figure here. Moreover we know the sculpt is final :-)But here is an idea for you: some fans proposed one more bendy snake around the snake-torso of King Hsss. Just wanted to say that if this bendy thing ever gets made you could reuse it for Squeeeze - he had such a snake wraped around his arm in the vintage toy too. Just an idea ...
Still a bit bummed about Grizzlor not getting his second head and Roboto having messed up shoulders and not two removable hands. But I am still into the line. My question can we start getting more accessories? Teela, Man-at-Arms and Trap Jaw had a crap load of accessories(I know Grizzlor is getting a lot of accessories so is Bow). What about some artefacts from the 200x series and original mini-comics?

According to Toyguru, 2011 is going to feature at least 4 females. I imagine from that point on in order to get all of the POP done by the 2016 plan, Mattel is going to have to continue a similar female release schedule.
My question is, is Mattel going to explore new advertising venues to reach out female collectors? So far, SDCC, Toyfare, and the DC comic movies are pretty much aimed at the male audience. Or is there a plan to make the upcoming POP ladies appeal more to the current male collectors who refuse to add pastel character to their collections?
i know it's not possible to comment any figure that's not yet been announced, but in general terms:
it will be possible to have all the figures that have arm attachments being compatible each others, as trap jaw and roboto are?
i'm thinking of spikor and hurricane hordak (if ever will be released);
or fisto and jistu (it would be fine if they had an "extra" normal hand like roboto and the bigger fist/chopping hand as an attachment that is possible to mix & match with the others);
and even man-e-faces: it would be wonderful, imho, if he had removable hands (both hands) like roboto with red/maroon attachments for an updated man-e-weapons version.
If there are any vehicles produced for the Classics line, will they be motorized aka Attak Trak or free-rolling like the Laser Bolt? I would prefer the former, myself.
