    Reptilian Palace Guard...

Okay, so I noticed that most the posts I've seen regarding the MOTUC reptilian palace guard refer to him as a Snake Man. Personally, I prefer to think of him as a Lizard Man. (I rather liked the one in the Filmation cartoon.) So, here's my question to all you fans out there:

In your MOTUC world, what race is the reptilian guard?

I think he's an infected human being turned into a snake man...

The problem with Lizardmen... or whatever Whiplash's people were called again... is the tail. The body doesn't have tail...

While I think it was horrible head to throw in... I GUESS it can be considered a Snake man army builder too....

I see him as a type of reptilian species. This species just doesn't have tails like some others in the same way you get a lot of differences within a group like the Snakemen themselves.

Not a big fan of the head, but it's still better than the cat one. HUman palace guards ftw!

Curious if the 4H would chime in with the story they were going for when they sculpted this. Was it a snake infected guard, another story altogether or just them having fun sculpting a monster-ish head like they are so awesome at.

Kobra Kahn is a snake man without a tail. He is supposed to be a decendent of the true Snake Men, so maybe not all of Kahns race are evil and this is one of his people.

For me it is a human guard infected by the serpent ring.

His face has human proportions, most reptils have elongated Nose and chin parts...

Could be a nice army for King Hiss...

The 4HM called it a reptile head but also hinted that it was a tribute to something:

Perhaps the reptilian head is suppose to be the guard transformed into a snakeman.. we are after all getting king Hiss next year.

What I was thinking of doing is giving a guard the reptillian head and battle damaged armor as one of the Snake-Men legion.
Can someone PM me the US number for Matty? I want to talk to someone who might has a clue of what is going on.

I think it was inspired by the Man-At-Arms snake man angle...but I'm going to make him just a reptilian species no different than humans who are palace guards...

I honestly considered him a snakeman. Now I hadn't actually developed the backstory for him specifically, so he could be a transformed human, a snake man scout sneaking into the palace, or even a snakeman who was raised by humans who is fighting to redeem the name of the snakemen.

Sure he could be a reptile of a completely new race not yet seen in any MOTU stuff, but I like the snakeman angle.

It is from the comic on the DVD where MAA becomes a snakeman. What was supposed to be the last episode.

Snake Men (and Snake infected humans) still have pupils.

None that we've seen so far (in any MOTU canon) has had blank red eyes.

I have no idea what it is, but it's not a Snake Man, nor one of Whiplash's race.

I guess we'll just have to keep watching the bios!

well, personally i like to think he's a different species of reptilian, a kind of tortoise-men, member of the same race than mother testudo (as depicted by emiliano).

I never thought he looked like a Snake Man, just reptilian, perhaps someone from Whiplash's race...

I dont plan to use it at all. But it's a neat addition.

And I'm totally sure it's a transformed human Snakeman hybrid, if not Man-At-Arms himself (who I feel it is a tribute to)

I'm not going with it as an evil Snake Man, but as a Repton/Reptile Man in service to that King. I like the variety of that much better than him being an infected guy.

Yeah, this is exactly what I thought of when I first saw it. Maybe this is our first Eternia/Earth connection? Maybe Marlena was the next-to-last starfighter? We'll have to wait and see if her bio mentions being really good at 80's arcade games.

To me he seems to be a Repton, not evil at all. Personally I don't think the Repton and Quadian head fit into an armybuilder set like this. Almost nobody would make an army full of Repton-palaceguards. It's one of the flaws of this set together with just one normal undamaged plate for the armor.
