    Answers to WTFWTK 2.118!

Mattel has once again provided answers to your questions.
Thanks again to them for taking the time to answer these!
Check out their answers to your Round 118 questions!

This round of questions were selected by Bear-at-arms.
Thanks to that fan for their help!

    1. Bear-at-arms: With Classics "wrapping up" by the end of 2015 (if we get a 2015) do you have a humdinger of a figure set aside as the Dec 2015 release?

    Heck yes!

    2. Ridureyu: In the MOTUC universe, does Skeletor die, go to jail, or turn good because he learns about the Christmas Spirit?

The next mini comic is called "The Final Battle of He-Man and Skeletor". We're guessing there may be some answers there!

    3. mjw41: Since we only have swiftwind & Granamyr, what are the odds of Mattel making use of the Filmation rights and getting out more Filmation beasts before the end of 2015? We need Molkrum, Colosor, Damar The Demon, Sand Demon and Shokoti's The Sleeping Beast just to name a few.

While we would love to, a lot of those beasts are not as "A list" and are very high in tooling. For the next two years our focus will be on the vintage MOTU and POP figures as well as A list figures from other media like Scorpia, Madame Razz, Goatman and Battle Lion. These would all be great beasts to think about if we get to 2016.

    4. Scorpia: If and when you get to Hunga the Harpy, can you include an extra head of a generic harpy warrior so we can army-build a bastion of her screeching cronies?

Great suggestion, but nothing to confirm at this time!

    5. King Tamusk: Sometimes companies will make special figures for the staff/team that work on a toy line, which is never produced for sale to the public; like the Hal Jordan Green Lantern figure produced for JLU. Has there been a figure produced solely for the MOTUC team yet? If not, have you considered doing it and what character would you choose?

We did produce a very small run of all clear Spirit of King Grayskull figures for the team as well as two units, one auctioned for charity, another raffled at SDCC for the public. Since this figure, no we have not discussed additional employee figures for MOTUC. We did do an exclusive carded version of the JLU Gray Ghost a few years back, but that was the last one from the Matty team for Mattel employees.

Personally I'd buy four or five Hunga figures if they came with an additional harpy warrior head. How cool would it be to have an army-builder of female monsters?!
Most-wanted MOTUC: Granita - Hunga the Harpy - Spinnerella - Melaktha - Vultak - Dylamug - Crita - Mermista Sprag, Sprocker and Spritina

I'd definitely get at least 3 total (one for Hunga and a couple of minions) if this was the case. Possibly more if she comes out during a month that is light in terms of the total amount of products being released.

Yep. Recently, the brother of a Mattel employee tried selling one on eBay. According to his description, there were a total of 10 made.

That would be so awesome! They wouldn't even need to be exclusive to anyone's MOTUC collection. Harpies have a broad appeal and could be used in a ton of displays!

I don't believe it sold. If I'm remembering correctly, the description said he would do a Buy It Now for like like $7500-8000.

A marginal call maybe, but given the central importance of King Grayskull in the new canon, it does seem to make sense they would make his familiar. After all, He-Man has Battle Cat, Skeletor Panthor and She-Ra has Swift Wind.

Besides, with a little mix-match there is a chance to create a 200x Battle Cat. Hard to find something more A list than Battle Cat for the 200x fans!

With that idea in mind, wouldn't it had made more sense for that "mount" slot to have gone to Clawdeen or Storm (Catra), or Tyrantisaurus Rex (King Hsss), or Mantisaur (Hordak). Those characters are more important than Battle Lion and represent the mounts for the main bad guys of the vintage figures. I think any one of these should have come first. So, unless Q4 of 2014 has one and the others show up in 2015, I'd say Battle Lion could have waited until 2016.

Unfortunately, guesses of Dare or Skeleteen are probably right, even though Scott promised nothing from Son of He-Man would show up in 2014/2015 (cough...Unnamed One...cough).

What I think would be a great surprise is if they kept the movie rights under wraps and the last figure would be Karg or God Skeletor.

    He's A-List to 200X fans...I think.

Also a thing to remember about Battle Lion is that he required very little new tooling since he mostly used the BC buck. Scott said that the saved tooling on Battle Lion went towards the extra tooling Modulok required. Kind of a "steal from Peter to pay Paul" situation.

If the last figure is Dare, it would be a great way to start off 2016 and get us more SOH figures. Karg would be incredible though, and then they could use god skeleton for 2016 sub lure.

I expect the mini-comic will have Skeletor falling to his "death" never to be seen again... but without a body there is always the chance they are still alive.

As for the last figure of 2015... hmm... I am going to guess Lazor Light Skeletor.

Personally, Battle Lion is my most anticipated character for this year. I'm a sucker for the mounts for the characters and since I first saw him on that one episode I have always wanted him. If I could change anything about him though I would have made him as massive as he was in the cartoon, still I have no complaints on this version. I would like to see He-man's son and his battle lion for 2016. What was his lion's name anyway, anyone know?

If I remember correctly, It's a bird named battle bird? The "lion" he had was a new look for him, but it was He-man's Battle Cat!
We need a Snake Teela and Critta in MOTUC! The snakemen and Space mutants are the only factions without a girl in them!

I think he has Craven that becomes Battle Bird and He-Man's Battle Cat. I also think they could merge. I'd really like to get the bird for sure. The SOH is really something I'm hoping we get more of ASAP.
