    That's actually pretty awesome.
Right or wrong, buying a sub tells Mattel you want more MOTUC figures. Not buying does tells them you don't. Don't let MOTUC end early because you might not like their marketing strategy! Plus polls show you won't regret subbing!

One of the true fan minority - happy MOTU fans!

    .......and we're back.

For those that seem to still be hung up on the price thing.... which always makes me laugh to be honest.
All I can say, it costs us money and time to produce this stuff. We just about break even on each piece and actually lose money on exclusives offered through other sites like Poe Ghostal's POA or AFI. But we don't really do it for the money. If we did, we'd charge $15 each. We do it because other fans like it and get as much enjoyment out of our accessories as we do.

If we were a huge corporate, publicly traded entity with millions in assets, if we had a factory in China that was churning out tens of thousands of units that were distributed throughout the world to major retailers, then yeah they'd be about $2-$3 each. But we are just a few guys (one who does the lion's share) buying supplies, conceptualizing, designing, sculpting, casting, testing, assembling, painting, processing, packing, shipping, and what ever else we have to do. It is laborious and costly, and none of us pocket a dime, all proceeds contribute to going through the process again for the next item.

Add to that, all of our pieces are original and of the highest quality we can achieve. Since each piece is done individually the margin for error is nonexistent. If something comes out looking like a dog chewed it up, we eat it and won't send it to the customer. We'll make another and another until it's right.

The Transformers community has some great guys doing awesome stuff. Each piece runs anywhere from $60-$100 for something that if it was mass produced for retail would only run between $10-$20. Granted they have fully transformable toys and all we're doing are swords and shields. But like us these guys aren't huge companies they are fans with talent and skill who want to share their love and ideas with fellow fans.
There's some cat out there in the G.I. Joe community simply recasting star wars and joe heads and charging $7-$10 per noggin. Now that's laughable.

Simply put, if we charge any less than $10, we'd have to stop doing this for everyone that wants one because we wouldn't be able to afford it. If $10 for one piece seems too steep for some, that's okay. No one is obligated to buy anything. We're not gonna call anybody out because they didn't buy our stuff. We understand that some people don't like certain things or get the joke in something we found humor in. We understand that our product can be cost prohibitive for some fans.

Heck I drive a Honda Pilot because a Range Rover is too expensive. I drink more Johnny Walker with the black label because the blue label costs way too much. Of course the blue label is more rare and of higher quality so that cost is justified. I guess you could just think of us as the Johnny Walker Blue of the fan produced action figure accessory world.

Until Next Time.....ba ba ba ba da....... dun dun dun.

Not my thing but of course I dont have to buy it. Dont know why some people take their toys so seriously lol. I agree their seems to be a sense of entitlement some people have on here making them moan and groan like spoilt brats about everything. Though this then makes me want to moan about them moaning lol.

Hey, don't think about those guys, they're not potential customers, and would most likely find something else to complain about if the price was different. Keep up the fantastic work. Real fans (of third party upgrades) know what this is worth.

Hordak's sword is so insanely cool and evil looking. And Zodac suddenly became a favorite character after he got a new sword. Money well spent.

I'm conflicted. On the one hand, I've never ordered any of the Spy Monkey stuff because, to me, it has a generic feel, while this is at least something original.

On the other hand...it's a bit ridiculous.

But on the...other...hand?....So is Mo-Larr, and I got him.

    Hmm.

I like the shield, but I don't really buy parody things especially since I have now integrated Wundar into my regular display as a canonical character, but I can tell you firsthand that Spy's stuff is anything but generic. His weapons and accessories are well crafted and have some heft to them. They can be pricey in the context of an accessory, but they are worth it.

First time I actually dislike something that Spymonkey created !

I guess I don't like my action figures being treated as a joke, except if they're from a comedy cartoon (Rugrats, the Simpsons...).

We're still waiting for a valid Tytus weapon. I thought Spymonkey was actually working on something for Tytus... I guess the toast-shield for Wun-Dar was SO much more important...

Oh, i think generic was the wrong word to use.

I'm not saying it looks bad, or even cheap. I'm saying that It just doesn't have that MOTU feel (for me). But I'm kinda weird. I've never been able to customize anything, simply because if it's not official product, it just doesn't jive with me. I don't know why. My tune will likely change if this line makes it all the way to 2016 or 2017 and I STILL don't have a Shadow Weaver. We'll see.

I guess I have a fear of buying something custom, and then an official version being released. The orange and purple axes are perfect examples. Even if the Matty versions are straight repaints of the gray one, it's what I prefer.

But anyway, I like what Spy Monkey does, it just doesn't (Currently) have a place in my MOTU world.

The toast shield is pretty cool parody wise, but not for me.

My quandry exactly. I know it doesn't fit with the rest of the more serious weapons, but the silliness of it has its own charm. And, after all, the figure himself came with a loaf of bread, so this is the next logical step...

Geez, some people here take everything so seriously. No sense of humor. What's with the sense of entitlement some people have? Having a hissy because Spy didn't make a Tytus weapon before this shield is a bit crazy.

Anyway, I think the shield is hilarious. It looks great, too. I love the burned on cosmic enforcer symbol.

    This is too much awesome

Taking away all of the "Fun" from this item and just looking at it from a design perspective you have to admit it is designed pretty well. Who would have ever thought a toast accessory would be so well detailed?

And the great customisers out there can finally make a MOTUC Powdered Toast Man

Sense of entitlement. That is what the name of the problem around here is. Exemplifies exactally the kind and/or type of whinging I hear.

When opinions become entitlement then I have a problem.

Great idea, Freaking FANTASTIC exicution. That realistic toasted bread (Witht he jesus-in-bread appearing symbol? Brilliant!) must have been a hard design but evidentally they did it pretty quickly.

I dont think I'll get one (at least until I finally break down and get the non-red empyrean blade which I'm waiting on I dont know why) but I'm just pleased as punch it exists.

Of course everything they do is outta love, and they are wonderful to even consider sharing it, not to speak of actually doing so.

But if you hate it, cool. Admittedly I dont know if I bought it I would display it. But I'd love being able to show it to people.

Totally agree with your first statement!

Sure this shield's not for everyone...I have no interest in it cause I take my nekkid muscle monster men all serious...but I would never belittle anybody else's enjoyment of it, and yes, it is fantastic work!
