    WOW!

This is impressive. Since it's made out of carbon steel, are you planning on putting an edge on it? A lot of show pieces aren't sharpened, but I was curious.

I'm very interested in getting a quote.

Thanks! As far as the edge goes, it's not razor sharp. I forget the precise measurement in millimeters, but the edge will be approximately 3 pieces of paper thick. Still something to be careful with, though.

Great to see so much interest guys, thank you for speaking up!! Just got an email this morning from the shop...
    Tim,
We finally got the blade fully machined and the guard fitted to the blade. We are hoping to start the polishing of the blade on Wed. and, with any luck, ship on Friday. It will take a 1 1/2 days to polish it. I will keep you informed. Our shop did a great job on fitting the guard to the blade, very tight fit yet able to separate the two. Sorry it has taken so long but have only one machine that is best at handling the long blade. The guard is already starting to take on a patina.
I will keep you informed this week, but I think you will be pleased with the quality of everything.
    Thanks!

I am one excited geek. Once it's completed, I can get quotes from the shop on a limited run of these, maybe 20 or 25 at most, if I find there's enough interest in that number. Stay tuned!!!!

Hey all! Yes, great news!! I received it a little over a week ago! I am incredibly impressed with the work that went into this beast of a sword! The bronze guard casting is quite nice, captured so much detail, and machined to fit the blade perfectly!! The blade is phenomenal, too. So massive! I do have some work I have to do on both the guard and the blade to get it just right, some clean up and polishing, but I will be updating with further info! One note of caution, though...this sword is HEAVY. No kidding. There's no way any film sword/prop was ever made this way!! And because of the weight distribution, it's difficult to wield, even for a big guy like me!! Yes, this truly is a weapon that a real He-Man would carry...since he'd be the only one that could fight with it!! Thanks for all the interest thus far, everybody. I'll get a full shot when I get the pieces back together, but for now...

That is looking great man! My only beef is the oxidising (if that is the term) of the brass on the cross guard. It's just a little uneven and rough in some parts.

But it's still flippen awesome so far.
