heck I'd even take Teen Titans over this, at least that was funny.
You think Teen Titans is better than Young Justice? Young Justice is closer to shows like Batman TAS, Superman and Justice League. Teen Titans was closer to a bad anime show about teenagers who happen to be a team of super-heroes. Oh well, that's how I see them.

I liked Teen Titans better than Young Justice.

I thought the original 2-part episode of YJ was very good, and its been downhill since. Unlikeable characters, dull stories, sloppy plotting/writing. I think the show has been a huge disappointment after a promising start. IMO, the only thing it has in common with Batman TAS and JLa/JLU is a slightly similar look.

Teen Titans was hit or miss and I could see how the animation could put people off, but when it was good it was really good.

I just don't see it but to each their own. I thought Teen Titans was fun but I just hold Young Justice in higher esteem.

I agree. I really didn't like Teen Titans, and have enjoyed this show a whole lot more.

You're all wrong. They're both disappointing. Although, I'm still hopeful Young Justice will improve(replacing Superboy & Aqualad would be a good start imo). After 9 episodes, I had already given up on Teen Titans(I just wasn't the target demo for that kid-based show).

I've only seen the first 2 episodes, so I will reserve judgement til I see more. I am curious though, is this Aqualad a new character created for the series, or has he appeared in the comics previously. Same question for Miss Martian as well.

Miss Martian has been around for five years now introduced in Teen Titans 37 written by Geoff Johns.

This new Aqualad was basically introduced during Brightest Day last year a few months after the plans for Young Justice were coming out. He has a different hair cut in the comic. And slightly different background, comic grow up in New Mexico animated in Atlantis.

    Maybe, maybe not.

The comic version is Jackson Hyde, a C student raised in New Mexico by his adoptive parents who discovers he is truly the son of Black Manta. As of yet, his true mother hasn't been revealed but it's been speculated that it's either Mera or Siren.

The animated version is Kaldur'ahm, an Atlantean who is trained in sorcery.

I mean... I guess they're supposed to be the same character, but they have vastly different backstories. Still, they basically look alike except their hair and have the same powers. Either way, both are new so I'm sure more will be revealed as we see more of them.

I should have said that better, slight as in one major detail. Both are born Kaldur’ahm, just one is raised in Atlantis the other raised in by adoptive parents in New Mexico. Both are the son of Black Manta, and we aren't sure yet who the mother is. It is implied in both cases some from Mera's people.

Considering it's been established that the Young Justice is an elseworld Earth-16.

got most of that from here, as I haven't read past about issue 21 of Brightest Day, and not some of the other appearances of the character.

To be honest, as big a DCU fan as I am, I don't think this is a very good show. It looks good, but the stories have left me cold and I find most of the characters not named Robin & Kid Flash extremely unlikable. I don't know if it was intentional or if the voice actor is just not very good, but Aqulad has no personality at all on the show imo. He reminds me of MYP's He-Man. He's the last person who should be the leader. I also think this might be the first time I've ever disliked Superman. I thought it was just me not being a fan of modern cartoons but I think Voltron Force is a lot of fun.

I agree completely. Although I don;t really like anyone on the show.

I really thought the 2-part pilot had a ton of potential, but I've been let down ever since.

I don't think it has anything to do with modern cartoons. I think the Avengers cartoon is absolutely outstanding.

Funnily enough, I only tried this out because I really liked the Voltron cartoon. It's been forever since I tried to watch a new action cartoon. This one had good buzz so I thought I'd give it a go. And I've been pleased. The animation is great, as has been said, but I also find the characters well defined and likable. Kid Flash is supposed to be a bit of butt head and I appreciate that. I also find Robin's portrayal interesting. I like that he's very capable in some ways but also very much a 13 year old kid in others. The think I like about Aqualad is that he is the "centered" one of the group. I do find Superboy's rage sort of silly at times. I think it's mostly down to the voice acting there though. I think the mix of characters and personalities is interesting.

Since I don't have a huge vested interest in the DC universe, I think the "sight-seeing tour of the DC universe" aspect of it appeals to me.

Is it the departure in the characters that you just don't like? For example this Superman acts like he is younger and is having problems coming to grips with having a son. Him storming off from a meal with Bruce Wayne was awesome, but made Clark look like a jerk. We get a lot of Batman but no Wonder Woman. I'd love to see more of Black Canary on the show.

I may dislike Superman since his personality is more Batman than Clark(even though I'm aware & have no problem that this takes place on another Earth). The others I just don't like. Superboy is practically Superboy Prime(minus all the killing), Aqualad has no personality imo, and Miss Martian, who I normally love, is kinda obnoxious in that her longing for Superboy seems to be all that defines her. Kid Flash and Robin(minus his Shadow impersonation) are OK.

I give Superboy more credit just because it makes sense for him to be so antisocial given his "upbringing." He's basically an unwanted child coping with a father who regards him as a mistake. I miss the more cocky version of Superboy from way back in the 90s, and I'm in no way a fan of cliche teen angst, but I do like Clark and Conner being approached as basically father and son. I liked it best in the comics when they finally bonded. I would hope that there will be a turning point here as well. I'm down with the choice to make Wally the arrogant one, and I would guess that's partly because he's the only one coming from a traditional stable family situation (ie, spoiled). I don't think of Miss Martian as being defined by a longing for Superboy, but certainly as having a connection to him and learning to relate to others with her powers. I'm not convinced that's where it will stay though. I know characters are going to change on this show, or so the writers promised. Aqualad has a personality though, it's just square.

Aqualad is kind of like Cyclops or Leonardo. He's the leader and he takes the responsibilty very seriously. He is probably the most mature member of the group. He does like to have fun but he is a very deep character as evident in the Downtime episode were he was going to quit if Aquagirl hadn't moved on after he left. I love Superboy's character. I can understand is anger, I mean, he doesn't even have a name at this point. He's like the son of Hulk, Skaar. A lot of anger but a good guy overall. The anger can be tempered by training as evident by the episode were Black Canary schooled him.
I really love the team dynamic of this group. It was really evident when they fought against Kobra and Bane.

We're all just going to have to agree to disagree. This show just isn't for me but I'm glad that some of you like it. I'm hoping I'll like Thundercats more. If I don't, I'm just going to blame Cartoon Network since it will be 0 for 3 with my liking their shows.

I always agreeable to agreeing to disagree. It's all opinions anyway. As long as someone bothers to explain their position.

I'm annoyed there seems to be zero word when this is returning. I know a lot of people think it has to do with them having to finish up episodes, but part of me wondered if they might not try to piggy-back it's return with the new Thundercats.

i only saw the first episode and the last couple, but it's a good toon. i'm really hoping they bring this back. it's a smart show. doesn't insult the intelligence of it's audience (kids or adults).

Supposedly it was coming back at the beginning of June but that obviously never happened. I wonder if the lack of toys and the long hiatus is going to end up killing this show.

I'm fearful of that too. It does kind of make sense to hold it back to the end of July to launch along with Thundercats. They are sure to get a lot of nostalgic fans tuning in, and if the pair Young Justice with it (after the first hour long episode) then it'd be a nice way of leveraging it

At that point, the Mattel figure should FINALLY be out at retail too.
