Any News Concerning Tomorrow's New Ordering Process?

SO we have been told that there should be an easier method to ordering starting tomorrow, where we possibly sign in first. Anyone hear about any details concerning this new ordering format? Will Matty actually be a different / better experience tomorrow?

I'm kind of angry that Mattel hasn't made clear what exactly the new process will be.

Ordering on that site is ridiculous as is, and their changing the process without telling us how is only going to make things more crazed.

I just don't get why they haven't spelled it out.

I just checked the Matty forums (a rare thing for me), and it looks like two people have already asked about this (one in the "Ask Matty" forum, and one in the MOTUC forum), but Mattel hasn't bothered to answer their questions.

They're going to require all customers to have a scanned and uploaded pic of their driverse license. This has to match your name on your matty account, otherwise your order will not go through.

Seriously though, I'm confused by the whole "signing in" explanation. Don't we already do that?

yeah. whatever the process is, I fear the same problems will persist.

If we all have to sign in to start then it will just crash at THAT POINT of the process rather than at other places.

yeah, the "signing-in" comment was bizarre because we already have to do that...

do they mean that you have to sign-in to put things in your cart, and in that way, it keeps track of the carts and once something is in your cart, you can't lose it immediately?

That would be nice... a lot of people continue to have the "sold out" problem when trying to check out, even though they were able to put items into their "carts."

I'd HOPE that what they mean is that you can sign in with your details & delivery address before ordering the figure (ie. before it goes on sale), then when the figure is available you can order it with a single click or two, without then having to try and then order your details as the servers clock up.

I say "I'd HOPE"... with Matty, nothing is ever that simple!

You can do that now. I always sign-in a little before the sale time (noon here), so I can avoid having to do it after I have selected the items I'm going to buy.

I started doing it ever since I lost Battle Cat and Trap Jaw from my cart back in February. I hadn't signed in first, and that helped delay my being able to actually purchase what was in my cart.

I was going to try and sign up so I can get the Grizzlor and Weapons pack tomorrow. I can't find out how to do this. Would all of the changes have affected this? Do I seriously need to have a copy of my Drivers License to buy something from them?

You have to buy something to initially create an account. If you already have an account, then you can log-in by clicking on the "FAQ" link (which isn't easy to find if you're unfamiliar with the site), which takes you to the log-in section.

Ok that is what I was thinking but I could not find it in the FAQ. I just started collecting MOTUC in the last month and a half and this is the first time I will attempt to buy any from the source.

Don't forget you have to buy 10 Flight Stands first to actually be able to buy those 3 weapon packs!!!

So:
- 10 flight stands
- 3 weapon packs
and then you can finally unlock the ability to purchase the

I'm personally taking their silence to mean it will be more of the same old, same old. WSOD abounding. I believe if there was going to be any big changes to the website, they would've shouted it from the highest mountain.

I mean, they've been saying they are "working on it" now for years. I guess I'm taking a "I'll believe it when I see it" approach.

I actually think the new process is already in place. A while back ToyGuru said it would take effect in October, and while only two items went on sale last month, pretty much everyone reported that it was their easiest ordering process yet. I never thought there was gonna be a new 'process', just that they were fixing the old one, like setting up the system to be able to handle and process the traffic more efficiently.

Well whatever they're doing for tomorrow they must be working on it now because when I went to check my order history, or pretty much any page that contains any info about me I get this error:
