I wonder how many people walked away from mattycollector.com today in frustration with the WSOD. I mean King Grayskull is still there, I honestly thought he and the weapons pack would have gone well before now. I wonder how many people just gave up trying to get him into their carts and walked on by.

I think Mattel did tweak the ordering system and I believe for the better but it will take time to change "people's" behavior. All of you notice that once you are at checkout the system goes much smoother. Few lucky people didn't even see the WSOD.
Not all of us. I had a window open on the final checkout waiting over an hour for the WSOD.

It only took me more than an hour on one occaision to get my figures. Most of the time its about 20 minutes. it sucks having to wait but I'm persistant anyway so I can handle it.

If Matty were real, I would DEFINITELY like to punch him in the face.

But something I hate even MORE than that face, is the fact that a company I have come to absolutely LOATHE, has a product that I want so very badly! And the reason I hate them so much is because of that very same product!!!

Name another website in which you have to wait for 20 plus minutes, having to deal with a refreshing screen. I had to wait 45 mintues to get through before I could place my order. This same thing happened with Whiplash and Orko. Then there was the whole Teela fiasco.

I love this line, but Mattycollector.com is the worst website I've ever used for a purchasing experience. By far.

Did I mention I was at work while sitting there for 45 minutes?

Yeah...the Matty website is flawed. After watching Dan's reviews, I decided if King Grayskull and the weapons pack were still available an hour after the sale, when I come home for my lunch break, then I would order them.

I was able to get into the Matty site immediately to find they were available.

I didn't think they'd still be available, but because of Matty's WSOD, I ended up buying them along with my final Ghostbuster figure, Peter. Darn you, WSOD!!!

Exactly. I work at that time of the day on most sale days. And, again, name one ordering website where you have to sit in front of a white refreshing screen for 45 minutes before PURCHASING what you want.

The only thing I know of that comes close is TicketMaster.
But that is really only a problem for popular shows with limited seats.

Forgive me if I am bringing up points already mentioned, but this same thread pops up each month. No one will ever strike, and even if we did we are the loud but not numerous. Anyone who thinks Mattel cares about collectors and their 'buying experience' is delusional. Mattel only cares about Hot Wheels and Barbie collectors; we're just the 'loud but not numerous' bunch (as ToyGuru always likes to point out). So long as instant sell out is Matty's goal it will always be a pain to order. No amount of servers will change that. I like how the Red Line Club (or whatever the hot wheels site is called) allows members to order 1 day before the general public. Give that option to Club Eternia and Club Ecto-1 buyers and I imagine you'd see a difference due to the splitting up of traffic. That's what I want to see as an improvment.

Yup, and MOTUC is a popular toy line with limited production runs. So, pretty much the same thing. When something is popular it's hard to get.

I'll go on strike. But all you go first. I don't want to be only one going on strike that day, brining mattycollector down to it's knees.

The problem is that I have to schedule time off of work to order these damn things. So not only am I giving Matty my money, but they are taking my vacation time too. Vacation is supposed to be used for something that relieves stress and this is anything but that.

It wouldn't work. Mattel knows they'll get rid of the product otherwise they'd have stopped making it by now. Even if some way all of .org were to get together and do this, there's still a ton of other people out there to take your place.

As far as that goes, I am convinced that the WSOD is not due to traffic flow but is a "safety feature" to control the flow of people. They seem to allow packets flows of IP addresses in at a time and in their mind "it's fair". Even if they sell out before YOU get YOURs, they still think it's fair. It sucks though.

My MOTU addiction means I'd never go on strike. I'm just glad the all-in sub means I won't have to experience this every month in future.

I understand frustration... but I think striking is ridiculous idea.

You won't let me buy you toys.... So I won't buy your toys!!!!

The ONLY thing I think worthy of complaining about is the fast sellouts... because seriously, whether you buy them here... or you buy them on E-bay later... Odds are QUITE slim Everyone will pick a character and NEVER buy it... so the only ones who win are resellers.

Mattel is still going to make it's money....

I think a BETTER deal would be if everyone agrees to not buy the figures till AFTER lunch... It's not the system that's broken.. it's 10,000 fans bottlenecking all at once!

Exactly... Name one other Ordering website, where you have to be online between 12:00 and 12:15 or you'll probably lose out on the purchase

This product should either be released in waves or given rain checks or SOMETHING... but items should NOT be selling out the first day, let ALONE 15 minutes... They have a whole site of 2 years worth of figures that say 'Coming Soon' or 'Sold Out' 29 day days of the month.

Sorry if this is repetition (I have not read the entire thread), but despite the horrible DR problems we have all been experiencing today, things HAVE to get better come February. After everyone battles it out for the Palace Guards, the All-In Sub will kick in for a good share of the MOTUC's collectors and site traffic should be much lighter. If there are still problems than DR should be dropped like a rock!!!

I think what I will try next year is this.
I have the sub, so anything that is not sold in the sub I will turn to a different online retailer to preordor from. I dont care if I have to pay a few bucks extra to do it. Atleast I wont have a heart attack trying to get something.

This way I shouldn't have to deal with the matty site at all.
Im sure they will do something to change that but you get the idea.

If I was someone attempting to get into this line and saw what the website doesn't have to offer, I'd be highly discouraged. The site shows a multitude of figures but they are never available except for the brief time period once a month on one certain day. This should be a turn off for future collectors of this line.

Exactly... Then on the back of packages, they write 'Collect them all' next to characters like Wun-Dar who will never be available again!!

I really consider that to be a slap in the face
