    "World of He-Man" (Sllohcin-vision 2.0)

This is an idea I had waaaaaaaaaay before I even attempted the original Sllohcin-vision but never progressed past the basic "general" daydreaming concept.

Thanks to Baena for starting the "visions" series way back when and for gbagok and The Raw and danbrenus and a few others for keeping it going. It's motivating and inspirational. My brain spins when I look at their threads and it only makes me want to add more to my own stories (that are in my head.)

Now, this "World of He-Man" idea is nothing more than a bit of fun. Nothing else is intended other than a spot to "play" with some designs and get back into drawing (I've only been back to the drawing board for less than a month so let's just say it's been a long while since I've done anything art related...)

Keeping to the "toy" look, I always thought MOTU was best served to young children. The bright colours, the swords and sorcery/lasers and robots mix... it's simply just too cool for school! So I wanted to go that route for the look and feel (I enjoy it the most )

    Marvel's Super-Hero Squad meets MOTU.

Anyway, my idea revolves around the World of He-Man being filled with D&D styled peoples and creatures with a hefty dose of sci-fi thrown in. Men and Elves and Dwarfs and demons and robots.

Also, the planet (consider it to be the size of Earth) is comprised of many nations and lands. Eternia, Infinita, Trolla, Etheria... all neighboring lands and all places for numerous wondrously dangerous adventures.

So, I'll keep expanding on my thoughts as I post the characters. I just did He-Man up this morning and I'm going to start my second in a few minutes and see how far I can get before bed. Just have to figure out who I want to do as this line would/will include vehicles and play-sets and monsters much like... "Colossor"

This is a really cool idea. But be careful with them bios
I like what you did with He-Man combining designs in to one cohesive design and keeping true the original size. This would definitely cater to a much younger audience as we were back in the day. I would love to get this for my son while he plays with my Castle Grayskull.

Thanks I'm thinking I don't even need the bios actually. I can just explain things in my posts.

As for the size, these would be about an inch shorter/smaller than the vintage line whereas larger characters like Beast-Man, etc. would be about 5" to 5.5" and giants, etc. would stand as tall as the MOTUC designs.

    Thanks everybody

I decided to set the pace with Skeletor. Hailing from Infinita, the twisted land of demons and other nasties. Skeletor is pretty much on the same mission of conquest that he's always been on. He aims to collect both halves of the Power Sword and gain entry into Castle Grayskull. He's as evil as ever and still very mean and I wanted to convey that a little more than normal (especially on such a squat design!)

I'll probably do up Beast Man next. I want to get a feel for characters that will utilize a slightly larger torso to generate a tad more height and girth.

    Thanks Nate.

I know they're not everyone's cup of tea but I'm digging what I do with them.

Any chance I can get you to correct my bad spelling in the thread title? I'm not sure what a "vison" is...

    These are cool.

However, I still prefer your original thread: http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/...170092&page=10

I don't know if it the angles, but your first version seems better to me than these newer ones.

Any chance you could finish off the first versions before doing more 2.0 versions?

Thanks for sharing your awesome MOTU art!

    Thanks

I started on Beast Man but I happened upon the really old school Tri-Klops that had the scaly visor. I still like him best as a mercenary-for-hire who has something "unnatural" about him (beyond his visor.)

So, I pushed the idea that he comes from Infinita and therefore must be some kind of evil beasty-demon being and not just an "augmented" man.

These are all cool so far, but that Skeletor face?!?! That is PERFECT - so evil! That might be the creepiest I've ever seen him look - well done.

You know, I loved the Sllohcin-Vision buck, or template or whatever you want to call it. That super-dense, heavy, chunky, durable look, kind of like the Fisher-Price toy line Rescue Heroes, or G.I. Joe's Sigma Six series was great, but I really like this one too. The only thing I feel hurts their appearance here is that they aren't shaded at all. The first He-Man, with the articulation details, is nicely cell-shaded, and looks great, then the character sheets kind-of look like 2-D construction paper cut-outs. My only critique would be to apply the shading details from that first image to the others, and I think they'd sell like hotcakes!
