Thread: Would you be interested in a sort of "Art of DVD" sketchbook by me?

Oh yes, these 2 are by me.
They are covers from the box set, so I think I will include them

Exactly - I've sold close to 6,000 copies of cereal:geek in total - Now given that I sell the magazine at £6 UK pounds (which some people deem to be too expensive) that would mean a sales total of £36,000...that's about $56,000...

WOW - I should be rich, right?

    WRONG!

Factor in production costs, print costs, and postage costs (which are ridiculously high operating out of the UK); discount sales to Graham Crackers and Diamond Distribution...and the profit is pretty much a big fat ZERO...

    And yet I persist...

Madness OR a misguided love for something I believe in?!

The good kind of madness. One that hopefully won't put you in too much debt...

I feel awful with how much Val, Emiliano, & James have put on the line for their MOTU love but know how much it's appreciated. It's one thing to have a love for 80's toys & cartoons but to be able to interact with others with a similar passion every day on this forum as well as getting a magazine that is a dream made reality for any little kid from the 80's with a TV & an imagination. You guys may not have gotten rich off of all your time, work, and expenses, but you have given all of us so much happiness. It's how I and many others sincerely feel.

Thank you for the kind words - They are MUCH appreciated!

As Val always reminds me, there's no money in THIS particular industry...

    There IS in porn though...

I wish you were rich, too!

Anyway, as I keep telling you; next time Emiliano and I are in the US of A, we three pay a visit to a local bank, rob it, and then head for the boarder!

It's my feeling that, if you're going to set out to do an art book, the book, itself should be really nicely done. So, I say that if you're going to go for it, go all out with a really high-end looking package (hard cover, etc...).
I would certainly pay upwards of $100 for a really nicely collected book of your work.

    Count me in ...

Emiliano, you make the book and I will buy it!

As GeologyMule mentioned, if you could draw a little sketch and autograph on the inside I would pay extra aswell for a 'Collector's Edition'! Thats a GREAT idea!

I am really only interested in your work for He-man & POP, I know a coffee table book would be pretty hard but that would be ideal for me.

Yay! I thought you drew them. I'm glad you can include all my favourites.

Now...if only you could get "Homecoming" coloured and published.

Count me in Emiliano!!! I would pay somewhere between $30-$50
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
    For my unconquerable soul.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

The book will be four foot in height, and six foot in width...

That's what we agreed on, isn't it, Emil?

I've seen stuff like about 20 pages photocopied by Adam Huges for $30!
Whoops! Sorry then! Don't know much about art books, I guess...

Thanks for posting the pics of those 200X art cards - they're very very cool!

I'm sure Emiliano is sure not to miss anything in the middle.

Like the example above, you can see a great amount of space between Beastman and Two-Bad. So you won't lose any art from either one of the characters.
