I went looking around today for it. I stopped at Wal-mart, Target, Kmart, and Best Buy. No dice.

I bit the bullet and ordered one from Amazon.com.

I got mine in the mail today. I haven't watched any episodes yet. It came with a cover slip and had an episode guide inside (similar to BCI's). I must say I'd rather Mill Creek have spent the money for those things on real disc holders inside the case instead (not a fan of the paper sleeves). I haven't quite developed a good way yet to slide the discs out the paper sleeves in an easy manner. I'm worried about scuffing them. I think I'll transfer them over to some blank cases.

I got my DVD yesterday, but I didn't get to see it until today. Now, keep in mind I never looked at the previous DVD release.

I popped a few DVDs into my blu-ray player and checked it out. I saw a few episodes on disk one and 1 episode on disk 3. They looked pretty decent. The only time that things looked a bit weird was in the menu screens. They would pixelate rather easily.

I liked the bonus dvd. The documentary was interesting. I liked hearing what the writers said about certain episodes. Sometimes though I got the feeling that they didn't remember and were trying hard to come up with interesting things to say.

Larry Dittillo was cool. I got a vibe that Paul Dini didn't remember much.

I'm glad that they list He-man.org in the credits. It's nice they recongnize the fans.

I got my set yesterday. I'm wondering, did you or anyone else have problems with the clips that kind of hold the stupid paper sleeves with the discs in them in place? My order arrived from Amazon. Before I even opened it, I already heard something moving around inside of there. One of those two clips (the ones right underneath the discs-in-sleeves) was broken, and the other one broke off shortly there after.

Now when I open the case, the first few discs just want to fall out.

What stupid packaging! At least internally.

I do like the box art.

I didn't notice anything broken in mine. The DVDs were held in place fine. I could see how they could get jarred loose if the case took a nice hit, though. I've been watching my C.O.P.S. discs this week, so haven't watched any He-Man episodes yet. Once I take a disc out to watch, I'll probably transfer it over to some blank cases I have. I don't like sliding things in and out of sleeves.

As for the dvd slip cover, it is the same art as on the regular case, but glossy some.

The box set came today.. I am VERY impressed with the slipcase they included. They didn't have to include one but they went the extra mile and gave us one.

It's a shiny holofoil one. One of the BIGGEST slipcases I have ever seen!
I hope they include one with the second season too! Looking forward to that! No broken disc holders in my set...

    Here are some more photos:

Also, YAY for James Bustatoons Eatock for being credited on this set

My disc 1 is giving me issues. I'm not too surprised since it does have a lot of scratches on the bottom. I'm sending it back for a new one. This is why I hate paper sleeves...

Is it scratches or a wavy portion, almost like a bubble under the disc? Because that's a pressing issue: the disc is de-laminating. It happened with my 200X discs (2 of the 4 so bad they wouldn't play) and the replacements they sent have the same problem, not as bad, but it will be. I was gonna buy the Filmation discs, but I'm having trouble trusting their products now.

It was scratches. There looked like some scuffing towards the outer edges, but I wouldn't say there was anything like a bubble. It is too bad that this isn't available at retail stores (as far as I know), because I could switch out the offending discs rather than have to send the whole thing back. I didn't really bother checking the other discs to see if they were ok, because I knew I'd have to return everything. I hope I get a better set and not a worse one. So far, I haven't had issues with the C.O.P.S. set.

That stinks. I didn't return my discs, I just emailed Mill Creek and they sent replacements. Maybe they'll just shoot you the one disc you need. Might save you some trouble.

Nah, they told me not to bother, which is good since you can buy the set new for like 9 bucks, so it'd hardly be worth spending like 3 bucks to send back defective discs. Especially if they're replacing them with equally defective discs...

Really wish I'd kept my BCI discs...

In retrospect, that might have been a good idea, because I got my replacement set in the mail today and one of the holder tabs was broken in the inside like Dynamo's. They sent this one in a bubble mailer rather than a box, so it probably took more direct hits in the mail. My Blu-Ray player is still disliking Disc 1, though. I have difficulties playing it with it. My DVD player upstairs seems like it wasn't having major issues, but every time I turn off my DVD player with the He-Man disc in it, it automatically opens up the DVD tray on the player. I can't just leave it in there. No discs of mine from other sets do that. I might just see if I can get a full refund and cut my losses rather than get another replacement.

    You have the same issues?

I took my two complete sets of defective 200X discs and ripped the series to my computer. It was ridiculous. I had some discs that were totally defective and I had to rip the other. I had some with glitches toward the beginning or end only, so I had to pick the start and end frames and rip half of it from one disc and half from the other. Between splitting discs to work around defects and because the compression was so extreme they wouldn't fit on standard DVD-R discs anyway, it took me eight discs to burn it all. I figure at about .75 cents a disc that's cheaper and still less hassle than buying a THIRD set that'll probably have defects as well. Still, what a pain. Took forever. I'm not buying their Filmation sets unless I can find them at firesale prices.

I had an issue with one of my MOTU 200X dvd and I e-mailed Mill Creek. I give them credit, they were really nice and they sent me a replacement DVD within a week.

On another issue. Do any of you guys know when Season 2 is slated for release? I already finished watching the entire set and I do want to complete the series.

Mill Creek is pretty good with replacements. I e-mailed back when I found the MOTU 200X set and I had 1 broken dvd. I e-mailed them and they sent a replacement within a week.

On another subject, does anybody know when Season 2 is coming? I already finished season 1 and I want to complete the series.

A friend of mine got the set with 1 scratched disc and two others with a strange ripple effect on the disc surface.. When he showed them to me I could see that it was a bad batch or something with a terrible production.. I really felt sorry for him.. Thanks for the email, we'll contact them !

That ripple is what most of mine had...the DVDs are delaminating. Cheap production techniques and materials. If I ever buy the Mill Creek Filmation, I'm going to make backup discs immediately since I assume this'll happen to them as well.

Anybody have a picture of a DVD with the ripple effect? I think mine were just scratched badly, but I am curious as to what it looks like.

Just an FYI, for those of you in the US who have malls near you, check FYE or related stores. I got my copy from them for $20 on sale.

    Bring on season 2!

Just finished watching the last Mill Creek disc and I'm very happy to report I had no issues whatsoever. I ordered mine online yet not a single disc came scratched. The discs all played perfectly, the picture was nice and crisp, sound was perfect. Considering the price, plus all the extras this set is a great deal and is the perfect backup to my BCI sets. And for those who cant find the BCI sets or don't want to pay the ridiculous prices for them, this set really isn't a bad substitute.
I have lots of MOTU figures from every line as well as all BCI/Eclipse dvd sets for sale in the marketplace.
