i for one AM excited about him, i think he's the most vintage-feeling figure released so far. Which is why i collect this line.

UPS guy just dropped off my sub Buzz-Offs. Being an hour a way from the distribution center sure does have it advantages. I won't open him til I get home tonight. That concludes my 2010 Club Eternia sub, bring on 2011.

Well, we know the small claw hand will (most likely) be used for Claw-Ful, so between Buzzy and Whippy, we're *THAT* much closer to getting one of the most wanted figures.

That's not strange at all. I've got that "through the motions" feeling when I got Roboto and Grizzlor. I actually like Vintage Buzz-Off, but I haven't been too excited about this release -- I'm just getting a better version of the same figure I already had for 25 years, which would fit in scale with the new collection, so my excitement isn't too high. Perhaps my attitude could soften when I have him in hand. I'm more excited about actual new stuff that I've never had before, like the Palace Guards, Vikor and Bow.

I think I'm more excited about Buzz-Off than I am the Shadow Beast, though.



However seeing the assembled figures does invoke a good feeling considering where we were a few years ago. MOTUC is now on it's third year. It's amazing how far we've come.

The insect legs help, but it's not enough for Buzz-Off to be a different release for him, SCB. That's like putting a vintage power harness on 200X He-Man and expecting vintage fans to suddenly like him.

Actually, in hand, I feel that he is much more than a "vintage figure with updated articulation". The head is very much an improved overall shape and even the piece that holds the wings is much different.

Just the overall look of the sculpt makes him better that the vintage.

i get what you say! Roboto and Buzz-Off's 200x versions departed so strongly from the originals, many people wanted at least a hint of 200x on the Classics version. A figure can still feel "classic" while having extra, modernized details, like Classics Man-At-Arms and Classics Trap Jaw.

But Buzz-Off is so faithful to its original design that you probably have to like the vintage version in order to enjoy this new one. For many, a second modernized head ala Moss Man would have sufficed.

i do think his head it still too balloon-shaped... and his limbs a tiny bit too dark.

I like a number of board members was sad that he didn't get a 200X head... But this head has really grown of me! I like his slicked back look! Can't wait to get him in a couple of weeks... (Shipping Ecom. to Australia takes 10-20days, Drainer!)

I really like the eyes, the shiny paint really pops, especially from far-away shots. And I also really like the scaly texture continuing down the shoulders. Some shading of darker brown on them to continue it from the main body would be awesome.

I'll say this - the helmet snaps on and stays on tightly, as advertised.



But it still looks so stupid that someone bigger's gonna come along, laugh at Buzz-Off and steal his stuff....
