Computers can replicate the hand painting look pretty well. It just takes talent and a lot of patience.

Yes they are, Scorpia! I love those pan shots where you can see a nice section of Filmation environment. Filmation MOTU and POP are my favorite show ever and are still masterpieces to me to this day.

I dunno about that. I have never seen computer animation with backgrounds like that. Most of them look like an MS paint-style coloring book to me. The only advantage computers have over it is the actual animation meaning movement, not the appearance. This is why even if they made a MOTU 202x in hyper reality hologram 3d, I would still prefer Filmation's take with that scenery. Never have I seen a land so magical as Filmation's. That land is beyond an acid induced psyhedelic dream. Believe me, I know, I've been there and nothing is better than watching Filmation MOTU/POP under such circumstances.

I would like to clarify that I love 200x, designs, colors ,everything but Eternia is definitely Filmation. the designs are unique, landscapes, structures, the wonderful skies of Eternia.

my dream is to see a new series that has the designs, style and music of Filmation with the continuity, revelations and stories of 200x.
    i would pay for it.

This is one of the reasons Filmation absolutely blows all other forms of MotU media out of the water.

I agree! I've got the entire set of the original Hem-Man & The Masters of the Universe and the entire set of the She-Ra, Princess of Power DVDs too. I've had the time & patience to put together panoramic screen captures of the She-Ra episodes (landscape as well as portrait orientation) but so far I haven't the time to watch the He-Man DVDs & put together high res pan scans of those (& there's a lot more He-Man episodes than She-Ra simply because he came first & lasted longer).

If anyone is interested, you can find my pan scan collection in my Photobucket site, the link is in my signature.

What I have noticed as I've been compiling these is that the very best & interesting pan scans are those that actually diagonally across a scene while going from left to right, up & down or vice versa. The only reason I don't have those is because they tend to have a lot of white space on either side of the picture where the frames merge. But I have seen some awesome panned cels that go in that diagonal manner in a few of the collections on the rubberslug site.

To be fair, computer can replicate hand coloring pretty well.

Same goes for special effects (laser glow, dimensional gateways, etc).

It just depends on people who are doing it.

I only ask as these are EXACTLY what I have been looking for to use as printed out backdrops for my Filmation customized figures.

    PLEASE REPOST THESE!

    ...I would REALLY appreciate it!!

Thanks to all those who reply.
