Keldor/200X Skeletor double-sword: Mattel are going to do it!

Something TG posted many pages into this thread and which will probably get missed by a great many people as a result:

So, let the speculation on what they'll include them with begin

:
1) It's not going to be for a while if the green light's just been given. Think 2012, not 2011.
2) It's unlikely it'll be with a 200X-Skeletor - as things stand, that would be still be a standard MotUC Skeletor with a white skull & Keldor's cape, which wouldn't be worth it - and they aren't going to redo Keldor.
3) So, logically, it'll either come with (a) whatever Skeletor variant they were already planning on next [post-BASk, that is] or (b) with an unrelated character as a "secret accessory", ala the 200X He-Man sword's inclusion with Man-at-Arms.

Anyone disagree with my points?

It makes sense for it to be an accessory for the next Skeletor variant. It's not coming in a weapons pack. Unless they think up an origin for them and give them to the person who wielded them before Keldor. Who could that be?

sounds like good news though I'll reserve final judgment for when I see them.

They could come with Spikor. Some continuities state he forges weapons for Skeletor.

Cracking bit of news. Like it's been suggested above, I guess they'll be included with the next Skeletor variant release. I hope we'll also see them in a weapons pack as i'd like a set each for my Keldor and Skeletor.

On the face of it, not likely - once they've come with a figure, the moulds will be available for a weapons pak, but only if they were repainted in some significant way for the WP. That would mean the weapons pak version coming with something like gold/black hilts rather than copper/purple.

Are there any other colour schemes they could do that wouldn't be completely random?

First of all, I'm really excited about this and happy that we kept pushing for it. That's actually better for me than the revelation of a new figure!

I think we will see it as a bonus item in 2012, maybe even this year. Thematically, they indeed could pack it with Spikor, but Blade might be a fitting choice as well. Or an upcoming Skeletor variant! Terror Claws Skeletor would be awesome - the figure's only new part is the armor, and aside of the Terror Claws and dragon claw, the twin blades would make for a great addition there. Dragon Blaster Skeletor could be a choice as well, but I hope they will use their money to make the dragon more poseable and maybe even removable.

I disagree. With a few reused parts Mattel can make a really cool looking figure.

Take Keldor and give him a Pre-Eternia He-man hood with a Scareglow head, Trap jaw boots, Havoc staff and the 200X swords. If the tooling budget allowed it hairless Beast Man feet. Then just repaint every thing in the 200X color scheme.

Good news but it's a shame they wont do modern heads as well.

They'll do them.

But not until the Classics line has run it's course, and they've run out of "refreshes".

Why do you think TG said so specifically that "we are still not going to explore 200X redesigned character heads in the online line", and not that they wont be explored period?

That's great news! I'm sure it'll be a pack-in with another figure though, since a Keldor re-release will likely be exactly the same as the original.

Unless they go the whole hog and include a 'Acid Burn' head, cos remember 2012 is the 10th anniversary of the line!

Oh, YES! This is fantastic news. The swords that came with Keldor were basically my only disappointment with the figure. I'm so excited for these!
