I still think She-Ra 2.0 should come free with Swift Wind, since, presumably, the only reason you'd need to buy 2.0 is so she could sit on Swift Wind.

As with most geniuses, you weren't appreciated in your own time. I knew I was cribbing that idea from somebody, but I didn't remember who. I resign my position as leader of the "She-Ra should come with Swift Wind" faction, and you now have three new supporters. Huzzah!

If we are talking dream fan options, then I want Panthor to come with Dragon Blaster Skeletor, Megator to come with Eldor, etc.

In order to be analogous, your examples would require that Skeletor not be able to sit on Panthor originally, despite many assurances that he could, and even then, Panthor would have to come with "original recipe" Skeletor, but with engineering tweaks that allowed him to sit on Panthor.

And, of course, we all know that Eldor hardly ever rides on Megator, so that's just silly.

Ok, so I thought about this some more and I'm starting to agree with you guys BUT it would set a potentially dangerously expensive precident for Mattel. (when Marzo's Master Masher vehicle is announced for next year, people are going to be screaming for a new, free Marzo figure with a cape that allows him to sit down, etc.)

I do imagine IF Mattel had gone the way of free She-Ra accessory, She would have ended up more of a 1.5 than a 2.0. She would have come with only a new dress that allowed her to sit, only one head (probably filmation because it's one piece and cheaper), no weapons. Instead I'm content to pay $20 for a new She-Ra that sounds like she will have enough updates that she will not replace the current She-Ra but join her on my shelf as a variant.

It would have been nice to include the free She-Ra for all of the folks that don't really care enough about her to buy another.

Or better yet, include the She-Ra free for subscribers only. Sure it'll tick off a lot of people but I really think Mattel needs to throw in some cool subscriber surprises throughout the year to keep people coming back for the all-in year after year.

I checked Catra's pictures in Mattycollector.com and noticed that the jewels on her Shield and Sword are Pink!?!? Aren't they supposed to be Red? In my opinion the pink does not go well with her or the line. Are they pink colored or is it just me?

The jewels on vintage Catra were red.

Scratchin Sound Catra also, largely, had a red jewel, but some had pink.

Shower Power had the same thing. But I think the jewels were largely pink. The sword that we are getting with MOTUC Catra is based on the Shower Power sword, which had a pink jewel sticker.

*ahem* I'll speak up on this one! When the image of Catra was shown in ToyFare I mentioned that I didn't like the red jewel in her shield (it looked like it was painted red). I thought it made her look too red. I said it would be neat if they made it black or pink like her vintage toy jewel to change it up and break up all the red. I don't think it was made pink because of my one comment in passing (I didn't petition for a pink jewel or anything), but if they did, I'll take the blame...and I don't care because I like it!

It may have been Bill Benecke's idea. TG said he fought to get the jewel included in She-Ra's sword and shield and I love him for it! So, he sounds like the guy who's most interested in PoP there.

Now, onto the sword. I agree that the sword is too light of a pink. This colour (with a metallic pink blade to match the paint scheme of Skeletor and Faker's) should have been saved for the Shower Power Catra variant.

In pictures at Wonder Con it looked darker.

I thought it would be the colour we got in the teaser (and I LOVE that colour for this Catra):



This is a deep pink, which looks great with her and helps keep her from being way too red. Since they kind of went the opposite way, I'd be okay with a really deep pink sword with Shower Power Catra (like seen with the prototype) and a red jewel in her shield. They can do a red sword with red jewel in a weapons pak.

Personally I like the pink sword. I feel it breaks up all the red. While I think Catra looks great, that's a whole lot of red to take in. That's probably why I prefer this design more...
