1. BlueStreak:
Back in Round 37 of the Org Q&As you said that you were working to resolve the tax issues. Now, some fans were suddenly billed for tax on the December subscription charge as well as the direct store purchase for Buzz-Off. There were no notifications about this new charge and the answers from customer service have not been clear. Why is Digital River charging tax when many of us have not been paying tax before?

We went to Digital River for an answer to this one:

“Effective Dec 1, 2010 we started to collect sales tax in two additional states: CO and TX so that makes 17 states in total. This may be what the customer is referring to, as this would be a new charge for them for the December subscription charge.

If you could get any more information from the customer (order #, email, etc.) we can look into their specific order and know for sure whether this is the case or not.

In the meantime, our tax folks will take a quick peek just to make sure there is nothing concerning from our end.”

2. Swanmarsh:
Is it possible that Mattel may one day release the text of the original plot/script/whatever-exists for the unproduced 2nd and 3rd Powers of Grayskull mini-comics? This could be an excellent 'secret' for the back of a subscribers-only map.

It is certainly possible. The first page of the two page document was printed on page four of the art book. Honestly, all of the information is in the bio for Preternia He-Man. There really isn’t much more to tell. The “Prelim Story Background” document just went over basic broad strokes, the details and dialogue were intended to be added later but sadly the line was canceled before the second and third mini comic had any work completed.

3. dark knight:
Is there any chance to get posters at SDCC that serve as a check-list or that display upcoming figures? They could be like the pack-in posters from the original 80s line that showed the figures and vehicles.

We don’t have anything like this planned right now but a good suggestion and something we will look into.

4. Sabertooth:
In Pixel Dan's video review of reissue King Grayskull we have seen that a classic'ized version of 200X He-Man can be created by combining pieces of the reissue King Grayskull figure, the Man-at-Arms figure and the He-Man figure. Does this mean that a classic'ized version of 200X He-Man will not get a unique release in the MOTUC line?

In all honestly this was not intentional and was a nice bonus. We would still love to tackle a “classicized” version of 200X He-Man one day and, yes, he would look very similar to the kit bash fans have created using King Grayskull’s body and He-Man head. Likely the changes would include recolored belts and bracelets as well as a new chest piece that did not have the cape holders on the shoulder. Nothing too drastically different. He would certainly have the same head and body.

5. AdultCollector:
Many fans who bought the Black Friday MOTUC figures complained about being sold "The Original" figures with poor paint apps, retaped mailers, loose joints, Battle Cat helmets that were either improperly attached to the figure or left flopping around in the box, and He-Man figures with poorly glued hair pieces. Which stock or run of figures are these? Are they previously returned figures? Unsold stock produced by the current toy production vendor? Or unsold stock produced by a previous toy production vendor Mattel no longer does business with? Also, why did quality control allow such a large number of flawed products to be released to the consumer, and what is Mattel doing to address this?

The Battle Cats sold on Cyber Monday were a combination of the last remaining customer service stock from the first sale and the new run. None were “repacks” or anything. If you receive a poor figure by all means contact customer service for a replacement. Also, if you have images of poor QC, please post them online on our forums on Mattycollector.com so we can pass them to our vendor.
