Great, this whole line is looking awesome! I thought I would be getting the 4 inch line, but now I'm torn on the 6 inch ones. I mean, classics are a given, but I did want some of the new versions as well! The 6 inch figures are just fantastic...and like the 6 inch Mumm-Ra a lot better than the 4 inch one, though the design in general is just awesome. I also see Mumm-Ra has some form of a sword like the Sword of Omens. COOL. I always love a dual mystical sword story (*cough*MOTU*cough*).

it's a sure bet that the new figures are more for the younger kids, and they are going to satisfy us older gents with the classics line, just cause we've been clamoring for it for awhile now

Also, anyone notice the goofiest toy inclusion from the original series in back in the 2011 line? The Ballista! Even as a kid it screamed product placement in the Return to Thundera episode, because it was only used once!

The whole of the new line is looking very impressive. Its one of those rare occasions where the finished article in the flesh actually looks ten times better than Super-Duper-Photoshop Press Images. They actually look really good, particularly all the versions of Mumm-Ra. Oddly enough, I actually think the 4” versions are slightly better than the 6” versions. The Classic figures are much better in the flesh, too.

I'm quite surprised at how much I like these.

I will definitely be getting the 6" and 8" lines for sure.

Now where are the mutants? I thought we'd see at least 1.

I love that little Snarf figure. It's so cute! Bandai needs to do a plush version!!

Did you miss Slythe? He is really the only one that has been shown so far. I think they showed some concept art for the other 2 mutants but to my knowledge its not been posted yet

Oh god! Don't tell me that little green guy was Slythe??

Well my love for this line just plummeted. That looks horrible.

Maybe I'll be passing on the "new" stuff after all.

It looks like Mumm-Ra got the least amount of change to his original design while either Panthro or Ssslithe got the most.

Even though I like smaller figures more(I'd have even made MOTUC smaller), the 6 inch 2011 Thundercats look a lot better than the 4 inch ones. I know Bandai has been around for years(and isn't even an American company), but I wonder if this franchise could put them over the top similar to what TMNT did for Playmates. Some of this stuff I'm seeing is just as good, if not better, than a lot of what Mattel & Hasbro are putting out.

Nice video! I'm actually digging the new line the more I see of it. Glad to see the Mumm-ra I liked best (the wingless one) is actually the larger scale one. I think I might take the plunge on the larger scale line. It just depends. I'm being very picky about collecting any new lines these days.

I do think the Thundertank turned out nice, and the Tower of Omens playset looks fun, even though it's not Cat's Lair.

Interesting how the action feature is very much like what Mattel tried to do with MOTU in 2002 (but accomplished by a less costly design, using a magnet instead of a chip it seems) with the interactivity built in.

well Bandai has been making toys for years, they are THE go to company for any kind of anime toy.

But I have to admit this is the first time they have really wow'd so many, I think the source material has a lot to do with it. For the most part they never had to design a lot of their lines as they were already well established (Power Rangers, Gundam, and Dragonball being the big 3)

They are rivaling Hasbro with how this launch is going, they bested Mattel the minute they offered 3 sized lines and a Classics

Anyone else notice they gave mumm-ra his own 'claw shield' and 'sword of omens' except evil versions?

Ok, since they posted that the "Classics" figures will be made slowly and released throughout the line, that means that getting a complete "classic" Thundercats collection is dependent on how well the rest of the line does.

...I have this sinking feeling it'll collapse after one or two waves and Lion-O and Tygra will be the only "classic" styled figures released.

Besting mattel by offering variety in a boys retail line isn't hard to do. If Mattel opened an ice cream store the same way they handle their boy lines it would be 31 varieties of Vanilla.

Wait, what? Where did they say the Classics will be released slowly and will be dependent on the new line?

I think you have Bandai confused with Mattel

I think the new toys will do perfectly fine.

smh, you guys really need to look at how Bandai handles a toyline. That does not really sound like them at all.

The toyline will go as long as the cartoon goes, unless it is an abomination the cartoon should go at least 3 seasons which is almost 2-3 years. More then likely it will be a success and go the full 52-65 episodes.

Essentially you are saying we will get the waves shown at Toy Fair and that is it, and historically Bandai has NEVER released that little product....ever

I am not saying we will get every figure known to man or tons and tons of toys, but seriously guys this is not Mattel. They do not think the same way, act the same way or do business the same way.

Exactly, I know a lot of people do not have experience with Bandai product but I think we need to stop treaking them like Jakks or Play Along

They are not Mattel and not Hasbro but definitely right behind when it comes to product management and big licenses.

I still think part of the reason the 2002 era of MOTU failed was that some people just didn't like the changes made to the original MOTU designs or like the new cartoon. No, I don't think those are the only reasons but, unlike some, I do feel they should be factored in as to why the line failed. Since Bandai seems to be looking out for fans of both the vintage line as well as those who want something new, I think it has a better chance than 2002 MOTU. Even if the new cartoon is a complete failure, there's the chance the Classic line might be a success..
