What I would like to ask all of you is - who (of the characters revealed so far) would you be prepared to sacrifice to have an NA character revelaed - cos that is what it would take. It's alll well and good to ask for more NA but you'd have to rob Peter to pay Paul. So, who should go? Man-E-Faces? Faceless One? Clawful? IMO none of the recent reveals should be kicked out for an NA character (well, probably bikini Teela cos she sux too, but I realise that I am in the minority over that one).

I understand that it's probably not good to release all of NA at the end (cos no-one will buy it) but forcing so many of us to end up with figs we don't want *cough*human galactic guardian*cough* just to pad out the line (or whatever) kinda sounds stupid to me.

The way I see it, we have only so many spots per year and there are SO many MOTU characters yet to come out. One NA per year is ample. For the first few years anyway. Come 2014, then, by all means, have 3 or 4 NA characters released per year. There's no rush just yet to increase NA to more than one release per year.
I had to force myself through the DVDs as well. I kept falling asleep during everyother episode, even if I just woke up in the morning. I recommend you read the mini comics first, things will make more since in the show that were not explained in the pilot like it should have.

I second the crap out of that. Well, I still love the original design, but the live action NA toy commercials had him in them, and he looked so freakin cool. But there are tons of other awesome designs as well! Flogg, Slush head, Hoove, Hydra, Flipshot, NA He man would be great also.
Looking for a reasonable price for Fangman and maybe king He-man and Strobo.

The Laser Skeletor remake, or the skull-chested variants the cartoon used for their main Skeletor?

Well, TG said in a Fwoosh interview after NYTF 2010 that two or three of the NA humans were slated to be the last of the old figure redo characters, taking up Q1 of the year *after* they finished all the others (including PoP).

NA ain't on the fast track...

In answer to your question, out of the figures shown in recent weeks I would cut out Man-E-Faces and Clawful. And it's not because I don't care for them or begrudge their fans who have been clamoring for them in the same way I've been clamoring for Queen Marlena and the Sorceress. Rather, as Kevenn accurately summed up:

In essence, Mattel's doing exactly what's going to ensure that the line doesn't last as long as we'd all like. By pumping out all of the non-variant vintage MOTU figures so early, it's going to remove any incentive those fans have to stick with the line when the POP and NA figures start coming out in droves later on.

Sorry, but with so many characters that I'd like to see eventually, I have to take the following stance: If folks don't want certain figures--whether they're Galactic Guardians (who I agree are somewhat boring compared to other characters in the MOTU mythos), Rebels, Snake Men, or concept characters--just sell 'em off. But please don't encourage populating the line in such a way (e.g., only 1 NA or POP character per year) that's going to benefit some fans and hurt other fans.

This is exactly why I push to see more NA in MOTUC. I was kinda disappointed when they had nothing at Toy Fair.

Well, a NA hero is confirmed for later this year...can't see it being anybody else but NA He-Man, especially since most of the tooling is already available.

I don’t care how long the line lasts. I’m not the one making the money. If the line is extended by an extra couple of years because they have padded it to the max, how is that a good thing for the consumer? And introducing too many non-favourite characters will bring certain death to even the best of toylines; which may end up shortening the life of the line in the end.

While I understand what you are saying, if the only way to sell NA figs is to force people to buy them by mixing them in with the ones most people want, is that really what’s best? If NA was popular enough, it wouldn’t matter when they got released. By comparison, if Mattel released all NA first, and then MOTU, I’d bet that many people would only start collecting when MOTU started coming out. It’s not the timing, it’s the property. That being said, I understand and agree that Mattel would have better buy-in for NA by sneaking them in here and there. I suppose it come down to exactly how much people want NA. Currently, I kinda get a sense (from everyone – Mattel and the fans) that they are including NA out of obligation to a large part. Even you suggesting that fans need an incentive to keep buying supports that idea.

IMO, I don’t think the line would survive as well as it is if we got more than 1 or 2 NA figs a year. It would certainly affect subscription sales if that became the norm. And by not having a subscription, customers may become even more selective about which purchases they make. NA is a niche market within a niche market. At best, a lot of fans are interested to see what the 4HM come up with, and many of us are embracing NA in MOTUC – to a degree. Unfortunately for NA fans, that degree is small. Although there has been talk in this thread about swapping Clawful or Man-E-Faces for a Galactic Guardian, I would hazard a guess that mindset is not common. If we got polled for the choice of having Clawful or Darius (not both) in MOTUC, I’m guessing that Clawful would see the light of day.

Now I understand that we are getting 1 fig this year (not 2), but there is one positive in all of this. Optikk was received generally quite well. I would even say that his release made people hate NA a little bit less. IMO this is the perfect way to get the fans interested in NA. If we get another NA figure that is cool then even more people will take interest. They will start to anticipate the next NA figure. It’s much better to build this into something that people want rather than force them to buy in.

    MOTU Classics Future He-Man question

If mattel was to produce an NA Classics He-Man would they use the same mold they have been using or use a new mold. If anyone has any thoughts on that I would like to know, this is something I would really look forward to, I'm sure many others would as well.

    Hi,

It has already been stated that all MOTUC figures will share the same body build.
So He-man, Bow, Marzo, Optik and NA Heman (will) have the same build

NA He-man wouldn't be much of a stretch. He's practically ready to be made. Bow nearly ushered him in.

I think the 4H would just make new boots (If that) new bracer arms, a belt, and a new hair sculpt. They will keep the same head, just give him a pony tail type haircut. Possible a new head with a helmet. The 4H already said they hate doing helmets for figures. They would rather sculpt the head with a helmet attached.

The armor is easy and so would a new sword and shield.
We survived the long night.... MOTU Forever!

So is there actually pretty good chance that they will produce NA He-Man, and skeletor, and so on?

Yeah, I think so. Now as to how far they go into the NA variants of He-Man and Skeletor is a different story.

I am pretty sure I have seen a mock up of a MOTUC NA He-Man, but has anyone done a NA Skeletor? I am curious to see how that would be executed.
