Official Rotar and Twistoid in MOTUC Discussion

    Hello All,

This may have been asked before, but...

I know that the Meterorbs are, at this point, not planned for MOTUC. What about Rotar and Twistoid. Has Toyguru ever said that they are not in the queue for future design and release? Just curious, as they would be pretty low on my list of wants.

I haven't read anything confirming or denying whether or not Twistoid and Rotar will be featured in MOTU Classics, but I think personally, if they did get a release then it would be as a two pack - or that's how they should be handled anyway. I think, especially as chances are they won't get their action feature, putting them in Classics is scraping the bottom of the barrell, so y'know, maybe towards the end of the line. As an SDCC exclusive or something

I'd be happy to add these 2 to my collection, so hopefully they do get made in MOTUC. TG did say that the plan is to get to ALL figures from the original lines. I hope that holds true.

Well, that question made me think... How cool would it be if the 1st MOTUC vehicle we'd get would be the Gyrattacker (a prototype was made back in the 80's), with Rotar included ?

    That would rock !

Personally, I'm all for Rotar and Twistoid being included in MOTUC.

I always thought Twistoid was the vintage lines alternative to Skeletor's hover robots.

Right now he is literally the only character I do not have from the 80s line, sans the UK giants and He-man and Skeletor variant.

I'm looking forward to one day picking up a MOTUC and vintage Twistoid.

And a Rotar wouldn't hurt anyone either.

And now they can do the hover robots themselves, he's redundant!

Having the Gyrattacker made would be awesome! And hopefully by the time they get around to making Rotar and Twistoid, maybe they will have extra tooling dollars to give them their action features. It's funny how almost everyone here hates the Energy Zoids. I loved them growing up. They had one of the coolest action features. I used to line up all the good guys on one side of the floor and the bad guys on the other. Then I would rev up Rotar and send him towards the villains, then Twistoid and send him towards the heroes, and see who knocked down more for the win. Good memories.

Come to think of it, Toyguru said vehicles could be made with their pilot... So I guess a Gyrattacker with Rotar could be possible.

I don't expect it to be the first vehicle released, though. But it would definitely be a cool item to get !

I also have good memories of Twistoid and Rotar (Twistoid's colours were so cool !)...

Since Toyguru has a penchant for adding new additions to old figures, he might give Rotar and Twistoid lower torsos with legs that the upper torsos can detach from.

I'd like to get them! I'm also jonesin' for Meteorbs, though!
Not to sound like a creepy cheerleader for Uki, but it's nice to know there is at least one person on this forum who is extremely positive & friendly all the time. I don't think I could be that nice even if you paid me. If we ever give out awards for "forum member of the month", Uki gets my vote. -Mr. Shokoti

    MOTUC Twistoid and Rotar

Now I know that he is not one of the most popular characters but I must admit he had an awesome accessory with him, the sickle at the end of the chain. Im not sure if they could do the action feature, but they could do something like orko which makes him look like he is floating, maybe they could put spinner in it. It would be great too if they could include Rotar as a two pack, his accessories too are were awesome, that huge saw sword and his axe/ball and chain. I know they are not the most popular but they were in the vintage line.

He qualifies for a figure, but I think they will both be a long time in coming. We are talking about two unique figures and the 4H are going to have some work updating them.

And they are super ugly colour wise... Maybe, but late in the line if ever.

There were customs done on rotar and twistoid, just done a quick search but nothing came up, i remeber they had legs and looked really good, to the point where i wanted these guys sooner then later if the 4HM did Rotar and Twistoid in a similar fashion.

I like the colour scheme. The raw did a great redesign:

Perhaps give them a seperate lower body that can be separated like king Hisss?

Given the Fab Four's uncanny ability to re-use without making it too obvious, I imagine both figures would use the same base body with different armor added on over it. Rotar can use the existing Molarr arms, and Twistoid could likely get away with Trap Jaw's arms. The new legless body can be used on both with the aforementioned distinct armor and a new head for each. So there would be a few new pieces needed, but the body gets used twice and the arms are already done.

However, I don't see these as an individual release, as they wouldn't be worth the full price of a figure without the Whizzer action feature (and I know we won't get that). Would make for a good SDCC two-pack, though.

I think a two-pack would be pretty sweet. I'll take them either way.

How will the Twistoids be treated?

Does anyone envision them coming with a base to stick them in? Would or could the Ram Man buck (if and when he is made) be involved with their design? These two figures are going to be interesting in design, to say the least. And aside from their odd-ball weapon what else could they have as a secondary weapon?

I think they should be a 2 pack. Although I like the idea of them being slightly reinvented to have legs, They could be made without them and have a clear base to sit on... perhaps a whirling tornado effect at the base (like the thunder punch effect).
