"A Dance with Dragons" by George RR Martin has a release date! Hallelujah!

Finally after what seems like decades, A dance with Dragons, the next installment in A Song of Ice and Fire, the best fantasy series ever, has a release date: July 12, 2011. Hopefully it's for real this time, because I can't wait to read it.

Well, it's actually the first "official" release date. Mr Martin has promised 3 or 4 others and failed to deliver, so yeah, even though I'm super-excited, I know that I probably shouldn't hold my breath.

amazon had it available for pre-order with a release date. then they took that away.

rumor i heard was that the editor or someone found a completely illogical error (i think someone was in two different places at the same time or something). and george had to basically re-write the whole book.
