New Snake Mountain box art - Mattel needs to get in contact with William George!

It was great that we got Rudy Obrero to do the box art for Classics Castle Grayskull. We need the same thing for Snake Mountain. Not sure if Mr. George is still doing commercial work, but it would make all the sense in the world to have him do it!

I'd rather Nate Baertsch did it to be honest. His art is gorgeous and by now is firmly established in current MOTU packaging.

It's obvious that the SM box must have a great art on it !
Hope Mattel asks fans again about who should be on the box

William George's nephew posted in a He-Man fansite on facebook, some months ago. Among other things he explained that is uncle was suffering from lapses of memory loss. As far as I remember, that was the case. We were quite a few who wrote and begged the poster to tell his uncle how much his work had meant for so many of us, and the conversation ended with the nephew promising to visit his uncle 'Bill' for the weekend to relay all the greetings to him.
I don't know if his nephew has posted anything more on that particular fanpage later, quite possibly was the overwhelming response very emotional for them both.

In light of all this I don't think William George can be expected to create new art for the Snake Mountain box. Sadly I believe his painting days are over. I will always remember his amazing work, with the box art for the Slime Pit, being my personal favourite..!

William George or Nate Baertsch either one is fine by me! Both of them are mythical Motu ilustrators

I think Nate would do an excellent job myself.

Hope William George is in good health and good care, an amazing legacy.

Agreed! We've been lucky to have and continue to have so many talented people work on this property.

Nate please. I feel like Rudy's work lately hasn't quite been up to par with the old classic stuff, whereas I really feel like Nate's Grayskull statue box invoked more of a classic box art vibe.

I'm sad to hear that about William George.

I agree, Nate could do a great job. So could Eamon

Rudy, Nate... Either would be great. I'm sorry to learn about Mr. George's memory loss.
Not to sound like a creepy cheerleader for Uki, but it's nice to know there is at least one person on this forum who is extremely positive & friendly all the time. I don't think I could be that nice even if you paid me. If we ever give out awards for "forum member of the month", Uki gets my vote. -Mr. Shokoti

I'm sure Nate would do a stellar job. His Icon Heroes Grayskull art was outstanding. And I think Nate's the kind of person who's crazy enough to put an intense amount of time into Snake Mountain box art.

It's always possible to use a brand new artist who hasn't had a chance to work on MOTU/POP.

But for those interested in consistency, Rudy would be who they should use. Rudy came out to the Power Party. He's his usual upbeat, wonderful self. I'm sure he'd be interested in doing it.

I'm sorry to learn about Mr. George's memory loss.
Sadly, he was suffering from it the one time he attended Power-Con. My sister took him to and from his house and took care of him that weekend. Mr. George is such a sweet man, too.

Rudy would be great for more of a visual match. But, yeah, I'm sure Nate would crush it too. Either one would be a great choice.

MOTU fans have to be the most talented fans, out there, no matter which property!

There are drawings, paintings, sculptures, dioramas, customs etc, etc, of such beauty, it really makes me proud to be a MOTU fan..!

    Of course we'd love William George to step in the game one last time;
but it doesn't look like time is on our side for this to happen.
    Which is very sad.
Those who mentioned Rudy to cover this task are right,
    at least, in my opinion.
I remember having real troubles to draw any distinction between artworks of theirs.

    Wow! Huge thanks old friend.
EDIT… Finished reading the thread… THANK YOU ALL!

It goes without saying, I would love to do it if given the opportunity!

I am excited to see how it gets handled, I'm sure Mattle has some sweet plans in the works!

Other artists that have been mentioned would also do an amazing job.

I loved William George's work on MotU, I'm often pouring over his posters and packaging art for inspiration, and have been since 1984 when I got that epic MotU Poster.

i'm sorry, but that's actually a terrible idea . Being an artist is a real job . and a 300 dollars snake mountain doesn't worth a great illustration made by an artist good at what he is doing.

I believe Nate and Axel started some box art for the Icon Heroes Snake Mountain that was never used. I'd be happy for them to finish that and use it for the MOTUC Snake Mountain box art.
