Official King Hssss & BA Skeletor Arrival Talkback Thread

I just came back to find them on the door. No bubble packing. They were in the box as usual. Not that I'm complaining. I'm happy about that.

Lunch first, more pix later. It's the first time I get Hiss, so I want to relish this. And BA Skeletor was my main Skeletor as a kid. I didn't have the original, so this is a special treat.

wondering how tight Hssss' torso snaps and stays together. My son wants one to play with but I am worried it will fall apart too easily - like Pixel Dan showed in his review. Anyone open theirs yet?

Yep, I'm wondering the same thing about King Hssss. Also is anyone else who's gotten their BA Skeletor having any issues with the "exploding armor action feature" that Pixel Dan had in his review?

Hsss' torso does indeed come apart easily. It would be pretty frustrating to a child trying to play with him. He comes apart simply trying to pose his legs. You have to hold him by the waist to do it without him coming apart. As for BA Skeletor's armor, mine stays on just fine. I've changed the plates a few times, and it stays intact when I put it back together. Overall, two very nice figures

Regarding Hssss' torso, there is a slight looseness, and as much as I want to call him Bobble Torso, you can hold either side and shake without fear of the opposite part falling. The snakes are pretty tight when plugged in to the legs. He is creepy to look at and the way his entire figure is cast in plating, it really feels like he's a serpent, especially with how his legs are connected on the two ball joints.

Both figures have really tight joints. When I first opened Skeletor, his waist didn't want to move at all. It's strange looking at the feet as they are all blue now... but something about it seems very nostalgic. Overall, both are great figures.

As for how long it's taking to get these to everyone, I don't know what the issue is... last year we didn't have this many people without their stuff in the mail. Maybe it has to do with the Ghostbusters sub going out the same day???

And my camera died before I could take more pix.

I'm starting to wonder if the lack of charges on so many of our cards means they don't have enough King Hssss' available yet to ship them out to all subscribers.

Mine just arrived and I couldn't be happier...perfect paint apps on both figures, no problems at all. I freaking LOVE the paint job on Skelly's face. I think it's the best version weve gotten so far.

Even more shocking is how much I love King Hssss...I like him even more than Skelly, which I did NOT anticipate. He is just incredible. Bring on Tung Lashor!!

    I got my figs today.

I HATE the paint job on the BA Skelly.

I don't know what it is .......maybe the bright yellow that they used or the black line through the teeth seems to take away from the detail of the teeth and mouth compared to the original and TRU version. And from a distance....it seems like the face looks just like a monkey face that the vintage had. I do like the armor though!

King Hiss looks great, except for the reversed shoulders.

Got my sub figures! Looking at Hsss…it's a little bitter sweet. The sculpt and figure are awesome BUT there's that whole backwards shoulders thing AGAIN. The face is so devious looking!

BA Skeletor…I've really been looking forward to him! I can't wait to get Panthor for him to sit on!! I'm still on the fence about this face paint app though. I prefer the wash of the original release. No issues with the "action feature" pop off armor…but one of his feet is a little wonky.

I completely agree. I was so much more excited before I heard the shoulders were messed up. I thought I hit a home run because his paint app was great and his joints were tight. Torso fits together tightly and no real bobble head on mine. He truly is an awesome figure though. I just wish the mistakes would not be so common with these toys.

BA Skeletor is also awesome but I don't really like his face paint app. It's too perfect and brightly colored. In my opinion the first release Skeletor had the best paint job but that is just my opinion. Regardless he is great to have in the collection and I am very happy with these two bad boys.

I bought my King Hsss figure the other day off of ebay at the same price I would have paid if I had gotten it off matty. I really enjoy this figure and I'm glad I made the purchase. However, there is alot of QC problems attached to it, chunks of red paint missing from the crotch piece and a small one in front revealing the green plastic underneath, a loose torso, loose hip joints and paint bleed on the snake teeth. Real sloppy stuff. I understand MOTUC does not exactly have the same budget as let's say Hot Wheels, but at 30 bucks a piece, Mattel needs to seriously, pay more attention to the quality of the line and fix the problem. I know they are just toys but they are toys that cost a pretty penny. I'm a die hard fan and I'll continue to collect the line despite almost all my figs having some kind of annoying defect. I suppose I should be grateful my figure did not come with reversed shoulders. Although I'd prefer those rather than a sloppy paint job, loose joints and chipped plastic.

    BA Skeletor crotch piece

Just got my first MOTUC BA Skeletor.

My question is do they have a waist joint or is his loin cloth just glued on crooked.

    Was this common?
