WTFWTK 2.56 - Ask your questions here!

Rules for What The Fans Want To Know:
    • Each user is limited to 1 question per Q&A.
    • Posts that repeat questions from other Q&As or from earlier in this thread, or posts that contain multiple questions, will be deleted and the offending user will no longer be permitted to participate in that particular Q&A. So check to see if your question has been asked and help everyone out!
Be sure to check the posts in this thread before you, as well as previous Q&A sessions!
    • This is for question submission only; not discussion. Please save that for discussion threads, and Q&A answer threads.
    • We will start a new Q&A thread when it is time for more questions, approximately every 2 weeks. So please don't start new Q&A threads.

The figures that can be produced are figures that were in the original MOTU, POP and NA lines, as well as in the mini-comics for these lines.
Characters that appeared in the 2002 MYP cartoon are also fair game.
    Filmation characters are off limits!
Who will be produced will remain to be seen.

We will pick up to 5 questions we feel might get answers at that time. Please do not take offense to your question not being asked.
Also, we also edit questions to make them more concise, to be more specific, etc. Please take no offense to this either, as it's only meant to help.
    It's nothing personal.

***Important note: Mattel has limited the questions to 5 from each site who submits Q&As.

    --------------

This past round of questions were selected by lorde trooper,
and proofed against old Q&As by Uncle Montork.
Thanks to them for their help!!!

The questions that were asked in the previous Q&A & will be answered in a couple weeks as follows (please do not repeat them, or questions from previous Q&As):

    1. CarKrash:
Last year there were two MOTU SDCC exclusive items (Orko + Adam and Mo-Larr + Skeletor). How many MOTU SDCC exclusives there will be in 2011?

    2. Count Marzo:
Are subscription exclusives accessories eligible for future Weapons Paks or are they off limits? I ask because Preternia He-Man has some really cool accessories with the Bionatops rifle and especially that Cosmic Key. They would be the highlight of a future Weapons Pak if they were included with a different color scheme.

    3. Prahvus:
During New York Toyfair 2011 you were given a letter containing He-Man.Org fans requests for some practical changes design-wise. Do you have any comments about that letter or any news to give us about it? We'd sure appreciate your feedback.

    4. Niki:
With all the talk about mini-comics characters and Filmation rights, I remembered the Rock People female in "RESCUE FROM THE SLIME PIT" comics and it's possible she is Granita. While she doesn´t look anything like her Filmation appearance, she is very prominent in that mini-comic.
Is Granita a character available for MOTUC or does she belong to Filmation just like Octavia since there has never been a prototype for a female Rock warrior?

    5. lorde trooper:
I would like some clarification in regards to the Spirit Of Grayskull figure. I know there was one raffled off at SDCC and one in a charity event so my question is: For the Mattel employees whom received the Spirit Of Grayskulls, were they loose or in their standard King Grayskull packaging? There are Spirit of Grayskull figures showing up on the secondary market and there are questions about their authenticity.

    --------------

    So ask those questions!

The action feature included with Roboto turned out great! I see that Man-E-Faces will have the spinning faces too! Can you give us any hints as to some of the action features we can expect in upcoming releases? Even generic hints would be fun.

Given that The Faceless One has to use Marzo's grasping left hand with the fingernails, is it too late in development to swap out the right hand with one from a figure which also has fingernails (e.g. He-Man), so that both hands at least match with the "magic tight glove look" that ToyGuru mentioned?

Will Mattel be paying for a Quality Control department for MOTUC any time soon?

We were told a shoulder committee has been put in place to prevent reverse shoulders from happening again yet King Hsss has reversed shoulders and is only 6 months after the last issue with Roboto.

I don't think it is fair to blame the fans or reviewers for not noticing it earlier, they shouldn't have to check when we have already been told the problem has been taken care of.

Why are we still seeing reversed shoulders on figures?

    RE: Continuing QC issues...

Why can't Mattel just get the Four Horsemen to inspect and sign off on all the production samples? I mean how much extra time could that take, and who better than the sculptors themselves to catch any production errors?

I mean, I already feel bad that they spend all this time designing and sculpting these figures with a great attention to detail, only to have the end product turn out faulty due to the QC departments lack of the same level of attention to detail used by the Horsemen.

If I get this new She-Ra and I pull off her head to replace it with the Filmation's one, will she results with a big head as she is less taller then the original She-Ra?

Regarding She-Ra 2.0, it has been stated that she will not come with a Filmation/Style Guide tiara, and will only come with the one from the classic toy, and that people will have to use the head with that Tiara from the first She-Ra figure on this one to get that look.

Can you reveal which incarnation of the character the rest of her body will be based on? I think fans of the Filmation/Style Guide version of She-Ra (which is arguably her most well-known and iconic look) won't be too happy if the rest of the figure is based on the classic toy's look, and they have to settle for only an iconic head with a toy body in order for her to sit properly on top of Swift Wind.

Now that King Hsss shoulders are manufactured wrong and recreating them in the near future is not an option, does that mean that characters that are planned to reuse those same shoulders ( for instance Kobra Kahn, Rattlor, etc) will be delayed or be released with incorrect shoulders?

Did the Goddess (Green Goddess) disappear or stop existing after Adam reclaimed the sword halves and became He-Man or is she still in the picture some how?

Currently it seems the females are using the same head sculpts (Teela, Adora), if I am wrong and the head sculpts are different I am not seeing much of a change, are there plans to treat the female characters with the same treatment the men get regarding head sculpts (unique head sculpts)?

Is it possible for you guys to have future releases of Skeletor use the First Skeletor's Loincloth/leather strap crotch piece instead of the standard loincloth like on BA Skeletor? Don't get me wrong I love BA Skeletor, he was my 1st Skeletor as a kid, but I think Skeletor should use/reuse his unique loincloth since he is the Main Villian for the line. If you could please pass this on to the Design team or the 4 Horsemen this would be greatly appreciated.

Master Sebrian is mentioned in Staghorn's bio. Is he available to be made in MOTUC? Or if not, is it possible to mention him, as with Staghorn's?

    Equivalent of TFO

Now that it is spring of 2011 and The Faceless One has been revealed, can we get another long-term namedrop? Like whoever is lined up for August of 2014?

I know vehicles will only begin at the end this year (1 vehicle for 2011), but I was thinking... Since some figures that were only prototypes or concepts in the 80's made it into MOTUC (He-Ro, Vikor), I was wondering if it could be possible for us to see, somewhere and some time down the line, 80's vehicle prototypes or concepts coming to plastic life in MOTUC...

Is it possible that we might see, in a Weapons Pak type of SKU slot, the classic accessories Stilt Stalkers, Jet Sled, and Megalaser in MOTUC? In addition to those, it would also be great to get Tower Tools, Cliff Climber, and Scubattack accessory packs done in MOTUC style too!

    Sy-clone feet

I'm wondering why they changed de Bow feet Sy-clone had in the prototipe to the overused Keldor feet we see in the production figures showed at NT Toyfare and the Chicago expo. A design choice maybe? Made by whom? Obiously the 4H where going to use the new Bow design feet.
    To infinity, and beyond!
