SOLUTION to all switched shoulders problem: Make both of the figure's arms REMOVABLE!

The one way to avoid any future shoulder problems would be to make both of any figure's arms removable. We KNOW that Mattel can make removable arms, because they did it with Trapjaw. If they do it for all future figures then it will be a simple solution to just swap the shoulders and remove and swap the biceps. NO MORE DRAMA FOR MATTY.

This is such an obvious solution. In fact, with Trap Jaw they already have a "He-Man" body type which probably is the main body for 60% of the male figures, so they can start doing this immediately (after the ones that are already tooled). I don't want to hear any garbage about "new tooling."

I think you have a good idea and that would make customizing easier too. Mattel will do as it wants though and I don't see them redoing the arm molds for each figure.

Every single part for this already exists, shoulder pegs included. It is a very good idea.

I'm not sso sure about it ... I didn't like to much how the Kronis' shoulder looks without the ring around it, you can see a gap and with the problems with QC (like loose ankles) I won't be happy with loose shoulders.

I think a better solution would be to make them universal. It can be done with some creative insight.

In a way, doing this would also be something of a nod to the vintage MOTU line since most of the figures arms in that line were easily removable and swappable.

What if you get one correct shoulder and one incorrect? This happened to some folks on Roboto.

You just call up Mattycollector and get a replacement.

This SEEMS to be a great idea...

HOWEVER, we all know Mattel would find a way to botch the removeable arms, and that we'd end up with problems related to the arms "plugs" !

That's likely true, but it would give us one more thing we can actually repair on our own with a boil and pop. It would be nice, of course, if we didn't have to worry about fixing a brand new figure, but, as you point out, we are talkinga bout Mattel...

Well, that's when you call Matty for a replacement if need be. Most likely the entire run wouldn't be like this.

One of my two Robotos that I got from my 2 subs last year were like that. I actually ended up laughing it off since this additional error just resulted in him having at least one correct shoulder.

I got one like that too. I remember being slightly excited about it too.

Not having removable arms was the first way this line let me down; I'd love if we could get them.

would be cool to have the removable arms like the classics motu toys.
would be fun to swap arms with figures.

I suggested removable/interchangeable arms several weeks ago when Mattel asked for our input. Hopefully the suggestion was passed along to ToyGuru. The four main reasons have been mentioned:
    - easiest fix for wrong shoulders
    - nod to the vintage line
    - makes customizing all the easier
    - most neccessary parts already tooled, all for human male body.

Based on Trap Jaw and Optikk, I'm against this idea. Arms on both of mine are so loose, that they have real problems keeping their arms up (elevated), especially Optikk.

For some reason I stupidly assumed that after the Trapjaw arm was created that all of the figures would be like that going forward. It just seemed like a "why not?" scenario.

However, for this plan to work you would also need the bisceps removeable from the shoulders, correct?

Would much rather the factory just made them right in the first place.

If they didn't screw that up too, I'd be all for this.

The original line had interchangeable arms for the most part, so there's another "vintage nod" to add to the pile . . .
