Sorry to hear of your loss. I know there is nothing that can really be said to make things all better, but at least you are a part of a good online community like this one to help keep your spirits up a little.
Haven't been on the net much of late; my mom went in for a knee replacement, and everything went well. But last Sunday she suffered an unexpected heart attack in her sleep, and passed away. I've been taking care of her affairs the past week. Her memorial service was this morning. We were very close. It's been a really hard week and I'm still pretty much in shock, but I've been lucky to have some good friends looking after me.

My mom passed in September. I believe our family members will want us to go on and enjoy what is left of our lives and not get too bogged down in grief. So I tried not to let it rattle me too much.

I lost my Mom to breast cancer in 92' she was 42. It literally took my breath away and I felt as if I was going to suffocate. Everybody kept saying sorry because that seems to be what you say but it just made me not want to hear those words anymore. I turn 42 this Thursday and it feels kinda weird. My thoughts are with you. Try to keep your head straight and not let it consume you. It's very easy to be angry for all the wrong reason instead of healing for the right ones.

This is one of the hardest time in anyone life, and no words ever helped me when I lost my dad. All I can think to think to say or do is what helped me. So with full sincerity.

This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments" (Matthew 22:36-40).
Sorry for your loss, Scott. These things are never easy under any circumstance, but are worse when it happens completely unexpectedly and out of the blue. I hope everything goes as well as it can for you in the very difficult time.
