Well at least this preview at some action scenes.
I have re watched that trailer a dozen times and I agree with you 100%; that scene has quite an amount of energy.
I may start to wonder if Clark Kent as a reporter may even appear in the movie. IMHO, it seems that Clark lives as a sort of bump, doing goods unnoticed, then, somehow he got the spotlight and that brings Zod to Earth looking for him, accusing him as an anomally and as a threat to Earth, thus Clark dons his cape persona to protect Jonathan (maybe) & Martha and surrenders himself to the army.
Later, something happens with Zod and there's the epic Kryptonian fight that comic book readers have been waiting since 18-Apr-1938!

My feedback thread
IMO the film looks a little washed and grey, and I think the suit is too blue. Minor details, but I do really like the new trailer! I may have to get my Superman tattoo touched up![]()

I don’t really dig the colour pallet they’ve got going on. Too bland and grey. Very unlike Zach Snyder. However, as for everything else? Phenomenal. I can safely say this is the first Superman film I am truly excited to see. Can’t wait.![]()
Did anyone care to read my last post??
It's just a guy's interpretation of the trailer. I wrote that warning just in case any of that turned out to be true!
Soundtrack is still bland and typical.

BY THE POWER OF GREYSTONE! I am the power.
On the contrary, I find it heroic and epic.
I just saw another trailer I hope Superman can make a comeback with a modern movie audience like Batman has.

Does anyone know if that's even in the soundtrack from the movie? Often such things aren't ready and the studio uses music from something else.
I do hope the movie isn't washed out and colorless like Returns; that was one of the biggest gripes I had with that film. Had the world been colorless and then Superman showed up in his bright primary colors, it would have worked, with his presence basically dominating any scene he was in (a bright symbol of hope, if you will). But Supes was as dark and dull as everything else, so the whole movie looked like someone turned down the contrast by half or more. The Batman films were dark, but they were also sharp, and the contrast even among the blacks was clear. Returns looked almost blurry by comparison.

For what I've read, it's the music from the real score.

Personally I have not drunk the Hans Zimmer kool-aid and disagree (with some disgust) at the occasionally voiced assessment of Williams's theme as a liability, but I can appreciate something that works at what it's trying to do, and the music in the trailer does a lot for its emotion and gravitas. As I said, seeing it first without sound really demonstrates how much it brings to the table. It doesn't say Superman, but it's hopeful, which seems to be right on the money for the theme they want. While clearly not the approach that I want, it's not as bad as I feared. I hope the movie has the same push the trailer has and doesn't get bogged down by this journeyman angle. 10 years of Smallville has worn out the idea of watching Clark debate being Superman. Can we pause for a moment to give a hand to Mr. Hans Zimmer? The triumphant score you heard in the second trailer comes from the film's actual soundtrack and matches perfectly with the imagery that we've seen thus far. The first preview effectively used the haunting chants of Lisa Gerrard, but the Zimmer score synchs up with the filmmaker's vision and sounds nothing like his "The Dark Knight" work. You can already hear film score nerds chomping at the bit for that soundtrack.
Sounds like his guesses are based again on the JJ Abrams treatment, so I hope they're wrong. I don't think Krypton should still be out there, that's like Bruce Wayne's parents being in a coma rather than dead. And I have issues with Lara being alive on Krypton while Clark is growing up on Earth. Plus how was sending Kal-El to Earth supposed to protect him from Zod since Zod is only slowed down for killing Jor-El and being sent the Phantom Zone? No idea how Zod will have war machines if Krypton blew up, but I'm sure they can figure out a reason without leaving the planet intact. Kandor? Argo City? Any number of possibilities. I don't think Kryptonite needs to be in the first movie, but you can't leave it out of the mythology completely, particularly if they're thinking of future movies and JLA crossovers. Anyway, that's just how I feel, but then I'm still hoping the female Jimmy Olsen thing is only gump and, just as Speedy and Roy Harper are two different characters on Arrow, the girl is a place holder while the real Jimmy will appear later.

Jeez, Supes! Put your underwear back on!
If Superman is kind of starting out in this film, I do kind of find it odd that the government would already know about the effects of kryptonite. Since the trailer showed Superman restrained what looks to be kryptonite handcuffs.

It's nice to see the hero let himself get captured (and I assume then break out) for a change. It's becoming a cliche for the villains to do it.
Cavill looks right, but I think he could use a red belt or something. That unbroken blue/black reminds me of Sir Laser-Lot a little.
