I, for one, like Zod's suit. Superman in general needs a bit of a retrofit, IMO.

There is supposedly a 'response' vid that I saw linked on Facebook somewhere. I'd rather they just show an official trailer already and give us an idea of what the new theme music is going to be. I just hope it isn't wussy like the music from the original teaser trailer.

I dunno.... I guess I don't feel that this approach to marketing for this particular film really fits. I mean, it looks like a preview to a horror film. I am far from sold on this film even though I am a huge fan of the character. Check out the TV spot and judge for yourself:

You know I watched that warning from Zod just before I saw the Boston Marathon bombing. For a split second a thought went through my head (in a joking way...I didn't know the severity..I just saw the alert on my phone a bomb exploded) that Zod was responsible for it and we should have handed over Kal El.

Of course after seeing what all transpired at Boston it ruins this clip for me. Bad timing on the release.

What the hell is up with the stupid jungle drums? Underwhelmed by the soundtrack. The visuals look pretty good. Judging from the conversation between Lois and Superman and the abrupt cut off before Lois can say his name, he won't be called Superman for the majority of the film.

    So, my reaction is mixed.

I haven't been so excited about a movie since I was a kid, this is the new Superman movie we deserved in 2006! I absolutely love the new soundtrack, it's heroic and is exactly what I expected from Hans Zimmer. This trailer proved me right, this movie will be awesome, I can't wait until June 13 (in my country we'll get it a day early), I have watched the trailer many times, I've lost count! Did anyone notice the Lexcorp sign on a building? you can see that building after Zod screams "I will find him!" and the Nolan credits appear.

Oh my GOD...this movie finally has me hooked. That trailer was INCREDIBLE.

The music was odd at first, but after a couple of viewings, I am absolutely in love with it. Seriously, I hope that's from the actual score, but it had serious, powerful energy behind it. The drum line sounds RELENTLESS in its intensity, especially at 2:09. I can just imagine a huge line of people on drums in the orchestra just banging out that amazing sound. I am absolutely in love with it, and keep listening to it just for that. Seriously, I feel a rush every time I hear that music blasting like a runaway freight train. Those drums give it an unstoppable energy that's so perfect for Superman.

There was nothing about the trailer I didn't absolutely love. This has moved into my #1 spot of must see films.

    Wow.

I even want a Krypton prequel movie after seeing that gorgeous opening.

I love that scene of Pa Kent saying, "You are my son." I swear, it gets me every time I hear it. Costner was an inspired choice for the role.

Sorry, and don't get me wrong I like her acting, but Amy Adams does not come across as or even look the part of Lois Lane. She's too cute. Lois is a beautiful, strong-willed woman, and Amy's going to have to really work at convincing me that she's a reporter willing to do anything for her story.

I definitely still like Cavill and Adams in their roles so far. The performances promise to be the best since Reeve, and Costner does better in his brief moments of the trailer than he has for the last decade. I'm still not feeling Superman in the music, but it does add a lot if you watch the trailer mute for the first time. Nice that the reaction has been so positive for Superman again.

It sort of looks like they stole Abrams' Vulcan-killing drill machine from Star Trek to either destroy Krypton or threaten Earth or both--ironic since he used it to destroy Vulcan (a planet not meant to be destroyed), but didn't destroy Krypton (a planet always meant to be destroyed) in his own treatment of Superman. Actually Zod coming to Earth with Kryptonian war machines also somewhat resembles the Katta-Zor stuff, but that'd be the only part of Abrams' stuff that sounded good to me.

There's a guy from Spain who runs a Superman site, his name is Javier Olivares, and he wrote his interpretation of the trailer (here's the link, in case anyone reading can read Spanish: http://www.supermanjaviolivares.net/....html?spref=fb).
OK, some of what I'm gonna write now could be considered SPOILER material, so read at your own risk!
It's been said by the people behind this movie that there won't be kryptonite and that Kal-El will be some sort of freak because he will be conceived by his parents naturally and he won't be genetically engineered like the rest of Krypton's population... Javier Olivares guessed that in this movie Krypton might not explode at all and that Jor-El might send his son to Earth so that he won't be killed by Zod. After this, Zod kills Jor-El and is sent to prison, but before he is sent to jail he tells Lara "Do you believe your son is safe?" and after that "I will find him!". Krypton still existing would explain Zod invading Earth with others and using space ships. He also noted that Superman refers to his world in the present tense when he is being interviewed by Lois Lane.
Also, on the video I posted (with Zod's message), and this is something I came up with myself, Zod refers to Kal-El as one of his citizens, which sounds to me like there are many others (somewhat coherent with Javier's theory of a Krypton still around).
I hope this post wasn't too long, and I'd like to read your opinions on these ideas and your own interpretations of what the story might be!
