Any by that same logic, how come they used a very Zod-esque take on Jax-Ur on Superman: TAS, instead of just using Zod himself (& for that matter, why "Mala" instead of either Faora or Ursa?)

In my travels, I don't believe I've ever come across an explanation for the decisions.
Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (from the 90's) suffered the same fate. Instead of General Zod taking over Smallville, they had Lord Nor... It's like they are afraid to use Zod for some reason, or at least in lighter contexts. 'Smallville' tackled Zod head on, and also used Faora -- and it was also a much darker show. So,perhaps that's the reason?

Henry was on Leno and they showed a clip that gave away way too much I think. That being said, it looked amazing.

Has anyone been going to Hardees for the 'Man of Steel' promotion? Is there anything besides Jor-El cups??

Man, I can't wait for these either! I hope it's good! All I've heard so far has got me hyped up. I got the statues from DC Collectibles. I really like them overall. Great detail, and love the design of these. They went on my bookshelf at work. Right after I took the pic, I rearranged them so Jor-el was in front, then Zod and Faora in a triangle, with Superman alone in the back.

I thought that there was going to be some kind of after credits teaser scene, but rumor has it not
C'mon DC, start trusting your properties! A small hint of anything, even when it is not guaranteed to happen, would boost its much needed DC films hype!

So, apparently a big deal is made in Man Of Steel about how Clark is 33 years old when he decides to become Superman.

...and I thought it was blatant in the last movie, when Superman fell back to earth in a crucifixion pose. After being pierced in the side with kryptonite.

You'd think by now people wouldn't have much to 'disagree' about when it comes to Superman considering sooooooooo many actors have portrayed him in their own ways. There are always going to be those people. I tend to ignore them as best as I can and try to enjoy the movie they 'disagree' about as best as I can. As for 'Man of Steel' I'm not going to watch it for anyone else but me and make up my own mind on what I think of the film's story.

Seriously, no one else has gone to Hardees and gotten the 'Man of Steel' cups yet? I want to know if there are others besides the Jor-El ones I've come across.

    Oh yeah....

No spoilers from the 'Man of Steel' movie yet to see if anything in the film acknowledges the plot of the Kara/Supergirl prequel comic that came out a few weeks ago? Or, will the events of the comic just be ignored entirely and never mentioned again?

Marvel has kind of made sick of stingers. I don't mind sitting through the first credits, but credits are LOOONG and usu the stinger isn't worth it outside of fan service. no reason to just put it after the main end credits if you want to set up a teaser, or just weave it into the main plot for future developments.

To be honest I'd rather the movie make me want to a sequel rather than a post-credits tease that may not pay off. I mean I'm still waiting for Langella's Skeletor to come back like he promised, and I doubt we're going to see Mark Strong's Sinestro Corps (though we should, even if nothing else from that movie comes back).

You made me giggle at work with Skeletor's promise of coming back

I actually do want a teaser or something that would open a DC heroes film era.
This is the only hint that lead us to a shared DC cinematic universe and comes from a David Goyer's interview:

...The idea is that Superman is the first one. There might be people helping people, but not in costumes, and that Superman comes forward and announces himself to the world. In him announcing himself, he’s the one that changes things....
Then he's asked about Batman, and he pretty much avoids an straight answer... which may lead us to think that MOS has to make big money in order for them to get a DC films shared universe commitment. Quite a dissapointing that there's no big head that could see the business and creative potential of DC on films

Went there for the first time in a long time today, and got a Zod cup. With these promotions, I think they usually get a new one each week, right?

Well the critics either love it or hate it depending on which review you read. Sounds like most of the movies I like.

I too have only seen one cup. If it's like the old days then one a week, if it's like the new days, then is a jumbled up mess of all of them scattered about the countryside. Road trip I say!!! Let's go Hardeeeeeing.
