I was boring and went with Wave One.

I love every character, beast, and vehicle in that wave as well as the fact that it features most of my favorites. I almost skipped Wave One for this poll since I felt most people would end up picking it, but I felt it just wouldn't have been right to leave it out.

I (personally though friends had them so I got to see/play with them IRL) missed Wave 1 & Wave 2 (excepting Ramman, who was kinda lame to me at the time, though I liked him well enough in the Filmation toon and loved his axe).

Wave 3 definately had many of my favourite characters but...

Wave 4 though. That is the first wave where I had nearly every one of the characters, so HUGE nostalgia factor.
Plus my favourite vehicle (or beast as you prefer) Spydor, still the seemingly least appreciated toys of the line (based on this forum).
Battlebones is a close second. (to be clear the best purely vehicle is Battle Ram of course, but if you include beasts, well....)
Then there's Spikor, Two-Bad, Modulok (still possibly the coolest figure ever), Roboto (who I didnt have but boy I loved that toy)
I had loads of fun with Thunder Punch He-Man. And though I absolutely loved Battle Armour He-Man, since I missed He-Man, Thunder Punch was the closest to his "actual" (and Filmation) appearance that I had.
And though clearly Castle Grayskull & Snake Mountain were better by any concievable method of descision, I think I may just have had more fun with my Fright Zone (though I was not terribly impressed with the Horde) than either. And I loved me some Slime Pit, and had a bash with it. But that Giant Snake Glove and grabber tree.... I dont know, there was something about it. OF course it's not "better" per say but...

Four (4) was when I was deepest in, and it was the largest part of my collection now that I see them all lined up.

    Wave 1.

I was old enough to remember buying them when they were released. So they hold the best memories for me and they have the core characters. We didn't have the cartoon to use in our battles so we had to make up our own or use the ones from the mini comics for our mock battles. My best friend and I had alot of great battles with the 1st wave of figures.

If I was going to rank all of them, it'd be almost in order, just switching wave 2 and 3:

    1
    3
    2
    4
    5
    6
    7

Wave 4, not so much in itself--although it's got a lot of good stuff, including my favorite versions of He-Man and Skeletor--but because that was when things seemed to have hit the perfect balance of familiar and fresh. The core cast of the cartoon was still in play, Wave 3 had really fleshed out the ranks, and Wave 4 introduced some new recruits as well as the wildcard element of the Evil Horde.

Tough decision. I really wanted to vote for Wave 1 just because of Mer-Man and Zodac alone. But Wave 2 brought us Faker, Trap Jaw, Tri-Klops and a childhood favorite of mine, Man-E-Faces. I even considered Wave 4. So MANY great figures in that wave. Ultimately, I chose Wave 2.

Went with Wave 1 since it's almost a complete line in itself (at least within the world of the mini-comics). Wave 2 was close with Evil-lyn and Trap-Jaw.

Gotta be Wave One for me! This was right when they were released, before the cartoon came to my neck of the woods, and we didn't know anything about any pink-vested Prince and his floating Court Jester- heck, there wasn't even a connection between the armored guy and the only girl in the line- a Goddess, by the back of the card's reckoning!

Plus, everyone had sharp weapons, lots of 'em, and it seemed like that skull-faced thing meant business!

    Yep. Wave One.
