Post #56 in this thread has a quote from one of the producers. They probably just decided to not do much, so they could keep it to 3 discs and still charge about the same price as the 4 disc season 1 set.
Yeah I doubt the sales of this set would do much besides recoup the cost to produce, RAH is where the money is made. To be honest we are lucky we are getting what we are getting and I say that as being a diehard fan of this series

I don't have any of the DVDs as of yet because I always see one by itself and don't want to buy them out of sequence. Can any of you give me some advice on the best way to buy the entire series in sequence of DVDs starting with ARAH all the way to the end? Is there a set that includes every episode ever?

For the DiC series, you'll just need the current set that is out Series 2 Season 1 and the July 10th release Series 2 Season 2. For the Sunbow series, there is a complete series set in a collectable footlocker that you can find on Amazon and other places. There will also be a cheaper complete series set of the Sunbow show coming out sometime this summer. It won't come in the footlocker and it won't have one of the bonus discs with the extra features, but it will have all the episodes as well.

I bought this at Target, too. I was a little surprised to see it there, since the first set wasn't sold there, but since the movie was originally scheduled to come out in late June that is probably why. So far, I've just watched the Eco Warriors two parter. It was ok.
My Target does not sell it, and since I am on a Simpsons binge, I have no reason to buy it right now anyway. Besides, I still have to get Gundam Unicorn 5 and Dragonball Kai 8 before I buy this.
