Which figure surprised you with its "WOW" factor once in-hand?

Which figure were you like "WOW!" once you had it in-hand as opposed to merely seeing pictures or a review of it?

I have to be honest and say that He-Ro really surprised me once in-hand. I was NOT looking forward to him and thought he looked too different from the others, despite his vintage roots and origin.

He-Ro (Initially I thought his design wasn't much of a MOTU character) and Grizzlor (I thought his head sculpt and fur were disappointing) have surprised me the most!... Both turned out to be a lot better than I thought!

    Really good question.

Tri Klops has that effect on me, Gygor, Zodak and finally King Hiss` Snaketorso really looks better in person than on pics.

Zodac and Randor really impressed considering I had considered not getting either.

Beast Man is even more fun to hold and pose around than I had anticipated.

I would have to say mine would be Vikor, but the WOW factor happened when I saw the figure's pictues at SDCC. I was really bummed to see the name Vikor listed as a main release when we saw the leaked picture of the names before the reveals. Besides Bow, Vikor ended up being one that I was looking forward to the most. And it really is a great figure.

Man-at-Arms. I had very low expectations with him and he turned out to be one of my favorite good guy figures. Mainly due to all of his cool accessories

This is a great -and surprisingly tough question to narrow down to just one.

But I hafta say its a dead on tie between MAA and Faker. Both of whom I was thinking 'yeah whateva' but once in hand they truly blew me away!

    (honourable mentions - Wundar,Marzo,Buzz off & PDH)

Skeletor was my first WOW and still does. Then I got Whiplash and he was WOW before I even opened him.

    Skeletor and Orko... Then He-man

I liked them all from pictures, then I liked even more when I got them in my hands.

Adam is good too, but the "wow" was stronger in the other figures.

Buzz-Off is one figure that did that to me. Though I've never had problems with Buzz-Off as some others seem to, I really felt he was an impressive figure when I got him in my hand.

Probably Zodac at first. Tri-Klops, Mer-Man, Teela and Buzz Off are all up there as well for the wow factor when i got them in hand. Also, Bronze King Grayskull too!

Evil Warriors: Mer-Man, Scareglow and TrapJaw

Heroic Warriors : Chief Carnivus and Buzz-Off (a second 200x inspired head for BUzz-Off would have been great, though)

In all honesty, I have to say all of them. They all are so much more impressive in person.

But as for ones that I wasn't looking forward to but TOTALLY won me over and blew me away once I opened them, Buzz Off and Bow.

    Excellent Question

For me, it has to be Count Marzo. I know a lot of people don't like him but IMO he is one of my favorite figures. Love his look. Great sword, he is actually ableto hold the gem securely, etc. He bring a lot of play value, and since the character is pretty interesting on his own, it's not hard to spend a lot of time posing him. Too bad I need to fix his ridiculously loose ankle. Thanks Matty.

Gygor .... I can really see him in the first 4 mini comics with his giant axe trying to hack down the Castle Grayskull jawbridge to get inside.

Oddly enough, for me it's a tie between Whiplash & Randor. Never was too fond of either as a kid but really dig the classics versions.

He-Ro was also really impressive to me once I had him in hand.

Buzz-Off for sure! I was pretty meh about him when I saw the SDCC pics but as soon as I got him out of the package I realized how great he was. With his wings out and everything, he's just a big, meaty figure and I love him!
