MOTU Classics Sy-Klone Video Review by Pixel Dan

    Alright guys, Sy-Klone is here!

    A few things to note:
I just moved into a new house, and have not yet unpacked! That explains that pile of boxes behind me. It's also why no other MOTU Classics figures appear in this video. I still need to locate them and get them out, which is the plan for this weekend. Luckily I never packed my other Sy-Klone figures, knowing that this figure would be showing up soon.

Otherwise, let me know if you have any other questions! Enjoy!

    "wheeee!!" Good stuff.

Great review. I'm a fan of the red ring and glad it's there.

Great review as usual. As usual your review has increased my excitement! Your MOTU Classics Sy-Klone looked so depressed in the shot where you had the vintage and 200X versions showing off the spin feature. Too funny.

I am very excited to get this action figure. Again great review and congratulations on the new house!

    Great review, Dan !

I really like the bright colours on Sy-Klone ! He looks awesome !

Thank you also for checking the shoulders ! What about the rest of the articulations, though ?

I actually love all the versions of Sy-klone : 80's, 200x and MOTUC. And MOTUC Sy-Klone should be amongst my favorite heroic warriors so far (along with Chief Carnivus, Vikor and He-Ro).

It seems like Sy-Klone is OK from a quality perspective. Let's cross the fingers that he'll be fine when he reaches our homes !

The small dial doesn't bother me much (but the BIG one on Hurricane Hordak's back does).

I guess it will be almost impossible to put Sy-Klone in a vehicle though, because of the huge "backpack" thing he has on his back. I just hope Mattel will think about this important point for the next figures. What would be the point of buying vehicles if so few characters can fit in them ?

P.S. : Pixel Dan, you might want to change that "PD" on the "Pixel Dan figure" drawing at the beginning of the reviews. There's a reason : in French, PD is used as a derogatory term for homosexuals. Maybe turn it into PXD, that would be a lot better !

Loved this review! I was a bit meh on SyKlone, but now I'll have to add it to the "To Buy" list... Love the fact that the dial blends in so nicely and it's not sticking out like a sore thumb. The only gripe I have is the yellow. It looks a bit too Lime colored... I may have to give him a quick coat of yellow paint to get him to the hue of yellow I like... (I hope I don't have to)
FINALLY!! GLIMMER IS IN MY SHELF!! Now I need a Crita!! Crita is to Mara what Evil Lyn is to Teela. If we ARE getting Mara, then we NEED Crita.

Great review Dan! Still wish he had his 200X helmet or his shoulder rings. Guess that's something for the theoretical variant...

About why he has the Big Red Ring: Like most 200X figures, the 4H expanded upon the character's various motifs and iconographies by adding them into the designs--for example Clawful had even more crustacean elements, Stratos had more feathers, Beast Man had his furs crudely patched together. In Sy-Klone's case, the Big Red Ring added to the character's Saturn motif (Red Saturn rings are all over the character--head, boots, gloves, belt, the radar even has Saturn). The 200X version even had that motif visible as you spun him.

Great review Dan! I was already happy to be getting him this month and getting this better look at him, makes me impatient for him now.

You managed to get better poses with that red ring than any of the other review sites or even from Sy-Klone's two recent Mattel convention appearances. Good job! Can't wait to see what you do when Catra arrives, as I suspect I'm going to like her better via your review than what I've seen so far at NYTF or Wonder-Con (she's looked... awkwardly posed with her accessories in both of her convention appearances, IMO).
Two questions... 1) how does he look holding any of the red/maroon weapons from the Weapons Rack? and 2) are you able to remove the red ring on his back and snap other weapons in it's place there instead? For instance, can it be used to hold the red Weapons Rack mace (sort of like Grizzlor, Palace Guards, or Man-At-Arms' back pieces?)?

Love this, thanks. I wasn't sure about this guy. Love the character, but really like the 200x design more. I think you've helped sway me. Here's to the 15th!

Thanks Dan! I'm looking forward to 'em a lot more now! My main concerns were how he held the ring, and whether or not it could go under his arms like you displayed, so that's been taken care of. He looks great, and I'm glad he's got the back ring option as a weapon, 'cause it looks awesome! I think I'm gona like this guy way more than I thought I would.

One question, though: Is the crotch peice soft, or hard like King Hsss's?

Great review as usual Dan! Since they showed his prototype, I was wondering if you could get the "hula-hoop" pose, and you answered that in the video! (Actually, it makes him look rather aerodynamic for spinning...)
Thanx for your hard work in making these videos!

The figure looks great. No complaints. The arm fins are genius and so is the removable back blade turning into a weapon. Love it.

    But P-Dan...bad news buddy...
