MOTUC Figures w/ "The Original" Burst

Now that we know there won't be any "reissued" figures after Man-E-Faces, I figured we could resurrect this thread for all the MOC completists out there!

I was going through my collection this afternoon and wanted to verify which figures have NOT been released with a "The Original" burst packaging. I know that some 1st release figures have "accidentally" been shipped with this packaging (ie Roboto/Vikor/Sy-Klone).

I know that all the figures listed under "with burst" are accurate, b/c I own or have seen them.
Are any of the figures under "without" actually available "with" ?

Any Panthors ? Any Zodac? Any Whiplash?

I think Goddess and Hsss had a burst.
A notice from Mattel on both sales warned that some customers may get a burst figure and some will not.

For quite a long time (someone might be able to tell you when it started) they've been printing all the inserts at one time, during the initial production, which is why some second run 'the original' ones have slipped into the first run figures.


As it's been speculated here, and I agree, I think they are actually producing all of the figures at one time and holding back the 'second release'. It makes sense, because all of the arguments in favour of producing the inserts at the same time also apply to the figures.

As cost cutting as this company seems to be, there is no reason why they wouldn't save money to produce the reissues with the original release. The Stratos "Reissue" coming in May is not a third run of the figure. It is only leftover customer service stock from the second run of the figure. TG has already confirmed this on Ask Matty.

Anyone get a Clawful? BG Teela or Faceless One with a "the original" burst ???

Poor, poor kittys.

I don't like the starburst either. IMO, dumb. Seems like a way to sucker people into having to have 2 figs - both with and w/o.

Did any of the 1st release he-man figures come with the "original" burst on the front accidentally, like a few other figures like Roboto etc.?

Nope. 2nd runs didn't exist back then.

I didn't think so. Bought one to keep mint about 2 years ago and didn't inspect it much. I was just going through my collection and saw it. Lesson learned. Thanks buddy.

Actually there have been news of first run he-men and Skeletor in a reissue package.
Of course they appeared well after 2008, as mattel probably repackaged some open original figures in "the original" bubble.
You can check if the figure has reverse shoulders or a glossy face to see if the figure actually comes from the first batch run.
