Yay! Toyark posted that they're in the works with Mattel to do a classics series for the original Captain Power! That means they aren't planning toys for the new series at the moment, but this is still awesome!

I do like how MOTUC has kind of set a bar for classics series of toys.
I'd love Captain Power figures in scale with motuc!! to a point because they wouldn't be nearly as muscular

That would be amazing... but I just hope it actually happens.

Where does it say Mattel is out? The only thing I read was that they were tentatively doing the toys, but that doesn't confirm they are definitely NOT, does it? Unless I'm missing something.... Time will tell here! Fingers crossed!!!

They just did a live-tweet session last night (they put the original movie up to view and then tweeted about it) and some good info came out of it. First of all, the new show is called Phoenix Rising:

    • The new power suits are built. I think all of them, but at least some.
    • They are planning a 13 episode series.
    • Filming has not taken place. A SFX house for CGI work has not been selected, though practical suit/effects company has been.
    • Tim Dunigan (the original Captain Power) will play Mentor and might even appear in flashbacks in a CP suit.
    • This is a reboot, not a sequel
•*Overmind will have a female voice. It might be one we recognize (maybe the actress who plays pilot?)
•*Pilot will have a major storyline in the new show
    • The original composer Gary Guttman is composing again
•*The technology is based on "metamaterials."
    • New Biodreads are nightmarish tech - utilizing a key organic component!
•*Those who wear powersuits make a big sacrifice, and there are some questions as to whether they are becoming too much like the machines they seek to defeat.
•*We got a sneak peek at SOMETHING... a new powersuit? A Biodread?

I'm curious if they'll be able to get a major cable network to buy it or not.

Last I'd heard there was at least one interested buyer. Not sure where it'd find a good home that'd make it work, though, to be honest.
