The King Hsss thing is only a problem for people who are perfectionist, saying that it is truly messed up that this has happen on 1st He-man and Skeletor and Roboto and now King Hsss it's not cool. you guys make the figures you should now if its messed up !!!!!

As I edited this episode, I was like "Geez, this is a depressing ep."
We should have lightened up with a song and dance routine or something.

This episode is getting me fired-up.

EDIT:

King Hiss and Snake Face were the only two Snake Men I owned as a kid, and my vision for their place in the mythology didn't draw from the mini-comics or any other media, except for the artwork on King Hiss' cardback, which I would stay was the strongest visual that stuck with me over the years. For me, the Snake Men really didn't have any lofty goals in mind, such as taking over the planet, but rather existed simply to lure and kill any person who was unfortunate enough to cross their path. Pretty basic stuff. In my mind, they lived off-the-beaten-path on a remote part of Eternia that wasn't easily reached, and it was rare to stumble upon a Snake Man. King Hiss' trick could work over and over again because nobody ever survived to tell the story...except for maybe when He-Man came along.

o.k. i'm about 15 minutes in ... i think i can guess the general topic of discussion for this episode, so i'm not really going to dig up old ground - if you want to see my opinions on king hiss' shoulders, just go back to the original thread! ... what i will say though is i think what unites us all is our passion for MOTU ...

I'm just saying that if I want to hear someone read me a MOTU story (even a half assed MOTUC bio lol), Penny D. is my first choice. Although it's an unfair comparison as she's a HEXcellent Horror Host.

Nothing against Pixel Dan at all on the bio reading. He's the best email reader if that makes him feel any better...and that's also an unfair comparison as I watch him on That New Toy Smell every week reading questions sent in to the Fan Corner.

Wow!

Penny Dreadful, you are SO right with regard to what should be done with the bios AND the elements that should be included.

I've said since 2008 that the bios would be better served as snippets of personality and a method to reveal MOTIVATION.

It's been said (correctly) that a villain MUST believe that whatever he is doing, no matter how evil it looks from the outside, is the RIGHT thing to do.

These bios in general (and Hsss in particular) fail more often than not.

GI Joe got it right WAY back in 1982. Mattel ruined the soup.

Additionally, Penny's observation about what is taught in writing classes about "show don't tell" is bang on the head. IMO, this also supports what many of us know...whomever is writing these awful things knows little to nothing about WRITING.

I don't see what's wrong with the show being negative. It's Roast Gooble Dinner, not the Matty Power Hour.
