The Official Spinnerella Thread!

I'm down for a Spinnerella in MOTUC. She seems like a perfect character to get into this line just due to the prestige of her being rare and expensive aka hard to get. Kinda like the Wun-Dar of PoP.

Dunno how they would pull her off with all the fabric she would need. Would that fabric look as good if it was done in plastic?

Regardless, I'd buy her for sure. She's near the top of the PoPs imo.

Why do so many people hate his art?

I love it and make no appologies.

I love both Betsies. I was hoping when they brought her British body back to life, they would bring Kwannon back to life and they'd go on crazy tag-team missions together.

I've always seen her more like the Laser Lights or the Giants. Released in Europe and for sure official (Spinny made it to Canada and a tiny bit in the U.S., but still). I mean, a knock off Chinese company like "Super Happy American Toy Fun Time!" could have made Wun-Dar.

Agreed on both points. But Asian Betsy is still pretty cool.

Because his "art" is mostly tracings from porn and cosmo.
Which wouldn't bother me so much if it didn't make for such clumsy storytelling.
The posing is always so static and awkward.. no movement.
And if there too many inconsistencies.
His Emma Frost changes facial structure 3 or 4 times per issue.
Probably because she is traced from 3 or 4 different ladies.
You seriously can't tell the ladies apart if they aren't in costume.

playing off the same thread as the offical Netossa thread I would love to Spinny come with that starburst shera sword that she was supposed to come with and the orignal sheild she came with. I think its important to keep the accessories as they were orignally with most figures as well as draw from the wealth of media that exists and use that to determine what accessories they get.

Sadly, Mattel will probably go with a heavy "they're not gay" angle in the bio... That is if the Horde does not steal the spotlight from her bio... Wouldn't be surprised if one of them is secretly in love with Josh... The Potato Salad is his trick to get the ladies...

I've been Gung-ho for Spinnerella from day one. When I first got mine, which used to belong to another member of the .org), I was floored. She is an incredible figure and I know the 4h will do this figure justice. I just hope they don't put the hairpiece on her. Mine doesn't have it and remarkably she looks a lot better without it. And what's with the lesbian relationship with Nettossa?? I just don't see it....

I think she would actually be a great candidate for two heads. Her crown is removeable on the toy and in Filmation, the Style Guide and mini-comic, she doesn't have one!

So, my idea would be:

- Toy Head: lavender hair with magenta streaks with crown
- "Style Guide" Head: All lavender hair, no crown

I think I know where you got it, too. I used to have a terrible phone camera when I took a super blurry picture, but I held that figure in my hand before! It's AWESOME!!!

Of course. That is a human classification. I say they should be packaged together and leave it up to the buyer to decide what their relationship is, like they do with Disney Fairies.

I like the streaks though... I want the streaks on both heads or perhaps a way to display her without the crown like they did with Catra.

Figured this will bump this thread back up. Besides I find it vital as Spinnerella is my favorite PoP character. I may not own a MOC one, but I do own a loose/complete one and a few cels of her. Hehehe....

I would love to see how the 4H tackle this challenge. They've done such amazing work on everything so far. Spinnerella is easily of the favorites in my collection...if only I could get that darn spinner! I bought mine from a friend 16 years ago for $5

Given she's the one figure I don't have from the original line, I'd be very glad to have an official version of her from Mattel (as opposed to the custom I have for the 80's stuff).

I imagine that skirt would be a molding nightmare, though...

I had never paid much attention to Spinnerella, but I must say she might be an awesome MOTUC figure !

The pics of the 80's toy are actually very cool (and yet, I'm not a vintage POP line fan)...

I'm curious to see what the 4 Horsemen would do with this character. As a reminder, Spinnerella was one of the POP figures the Horsemen stated they were enthused to sculpt, along with Catra...

She's the only character made in the original lines I don't have (a custom made from Flutterina fills in), so I'd love to have an official version here in MOTUC. And I like the idea of giving her some sort of weapon to hold as she spins, or perhaps giving her a tornado like accessory like Red Tornado to slip on her hands. I would like something closer to the Filmation design (big surprise coming from the grumpy old Filmation fan, right?), but the idea of making the skirt parts a little more toy-esque and bendable is great (though I'm sure we'll hear moans of production budget woes from TG and company at the very thought).
