    Night Stalker delayed until September...

I have just seen that Matty collector have updated their website for the new releases for May and there is no sign of Night Stalker at all. Has their been an announcement that I have missed? I am really disappointed, I have been waiting for so long just to see how he will be packaged. This sucks!

it's all been posted in the may thread started by another org member http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/...May-s-shipment

Also it's posted in the matty may info at the bottom that due to production issues Nightstalker is delayed until September.

Better to be done right rather than early imo. Jitsu will just have to find a way to bide his time. Maybe a few rounds of paper, rock, scissors...

He's been doing fine all this time without him, he'll be fine.

And if they shrunk it then everyone will complain that he's to small. I'm fine with it being the size it is. It makes sense. He's a robotic horse, a vehicle a machine.. and it's 30 xs better than the 80s version

He's not crazy. It's a little too big. As you can see from his post, the figures (Mer-Man in this case) are swallowed by it.

It also makes Grayskull look like a tree house. Then again, so does the Talon fighter. At least the talon fighter by itself in relation to the figures makes sense to be that large. Here is Stridor/Night Stalker in different types of media. He was never that huge. Bigger isn't always better. Especially when it is out of scale with over 90% of it's representation in media, vintage toys, etc.

I really like the Proportions with that Jitsu painting. THe MOTUC Nightstalker's front Shoulder is about TWICE the Size as a figure's head. The vintage one was about 1/1. It would have been fine to make it a little larger, maybe up to 1.5 times the size of a figure's head, but at nearly 200% I think it was up-scaled a little too much.

I know making things bigger for fun is cool and everything, but when Merman's eyes are almost UNDERNEATH the front gold shoulder ridge, and Night Stalkers Head is so enormous, how can you see in front of you? If you want a giant robot or vehicle with a windshield or a view-screen, ok, but this is supposed to be a steed, not a Voltron Lion or a Mech.

That said, I wish Battle Lion would have been made larger than Battle cat somehow (by giving him longer front forearms, etc) Since in the 200x cartoon he was huge, and visibility was not a problem there. Heck, even Grayskull himself is taller than He-man due to the boot tops, so this makes Battle Lion smaller in proportion to King Grayskull than Battlecat is to He-man.

What is the source of the pic with Mer-Man? Perhaps MM is Photoshopped, as something looks off in that picture.

    **Edit**

Nevermind, it's from the slideshow. Eh, not that bad IMO compared to Grayskull.

It's a vehicle in the form of a robotic horse and as posted by another member the 80's version was way too small. I think it's perfect as is and can't wait for it in September.

I concur. I felt that the bulk of the vehicles/mounts in the vintage line were too small for the figures. I enjoy the upscale on all of the modern vehicles and mounts that we have gotten. It's a welcome change. The vintage line vehicles and mounts always looked to me like an adult on a kids mechanized quarter ride.

I suspect that the older art work was based on the original toy that was too small (imho).

Perhaps because he is sitting instead of standing?

It looks a bit awkward like MM is just along for the ride there, not actually in control. Perhaps if they made it so the figure was forced to remain in a closer to standing position while on board it would give a more natural look.

Merman can't even see where he's going. I side with those who think the horse is too big.

I like the size. If you're going to build a robot horse it should definitely be like a draft horse not a quarter horse. It's a tank essentially, so it should be bulky imo. What are these supposed to cost?

Who said it was a tank? For all I know its just a robotic war-horse and should be sized accordingly

It's sized accordingly since Mattel has the Horsemen sculpt it and Mattel signed off on the sculpt so That's what we are getting and I think everyone complaining it's too big will be surprised with the final product since what we saw was only the Resin sculpt.

Maybe it will shrink just slightly due to production, like rotocasting. Even just a 3-5% reduction would be much welcomed by me. But the Talon fighter didn't seem to shrink from proto to production. Guess we all have to wait until September (won't believe that until it ACTUALLY ships by the way) to find out.

Well at NYTF Cornboy told Dan in his walkthrough that the sample of Nightstalker they got looked really great and Cornboy Had great expectations for it. He even showed with their prototype how Nightstalkers neck will have several articulated ball joints for great range of movement and the tail is on a ball joint and the legs are fully articulated. I'm really looking forward to getting this.

Man I am so bummed by this delay. I was really pumped for this one. Nightstalker was one of those pieces that is tied to a meaningful childhood memory, so it's a bummer. I am really tired of all the delays.

    Yes me too.

I have to admit at this point, that since Scott left, the impresssion that has been given to me so far, is that things fall apart when it comes down to programming and organization, or that the current management transmits a sense of abbandon from Mattel's part, with all these delays. I began to miss the excitement and the enthusiasm that TG emanated when a new MOTU figure/vehicle/beast was out.
