Should Mantenna in Classics be like Vintage or Staction

Hmmmm... Tough call. The 80's version needs to be improved upon and those darn legs are the key culprit. Although, like others have said, the Staction really is a decent update to the 80's toy -- with a few additional elements for added flare (i.e. yellow eyes, larger ears, more petruded fins and spikes, and an alien-like 3D head).

This really is a tough call. I do know that I LOVE the Staction and I HATE the 1980's design. I'd say a nice mix, leaning more towards the vintage elements in head proportions (size and shape and ear size) and eyes without the legs fused together.

Vintage "like", with staction looks and details. The staction is EXTREMELY detailed and has a lot of great features. But this is the CLASSICS line. Gotta respect the vintage. I say 80% vintage, 20% staction and 100% 4H!!!!!!!!!

In the end, whatever they come with - I'm sure it'll be awesome. Mantenna was one of my faves as a kid. Can't wait for him.

I went with the 'mix' option. Vintage-ish elements should be there (I agree with what TJRules says) but indeed, more details en most definitely four separate legs! And two heads: a 'normal' one and one with his eyes popped out.

I would like it to look exactly like the staction but I voted for a mix of both simply because I think a purely staction Mantenna would look out of place in this line.

I love the vintage figure, but don't love the attached legs. Would like to see as much vintage figure as possible but re-worked legs more similar to the staction.

I voted for a mix but I'd be really happy with the 200x version. It's pretty close to Filmation. I never liked the classic toy, it was too bulky.

I agree with this. Though I'd prefer a Filmation look, I think the staction is a vast improvement on the original toy and would likely fit in well with Grizzlor and Leech in MOTUC.

The staction alone looks like an updated version of the vintgae one already. Same armor and everything, just more detailed. Only need removable eyes.

This is a first for me, I actually like the 200X version of something... ...I say make it a mix, give him fur instead of spikes...but a 200X based head instead of the vintage....and definitely the 4 individual legs..the 200X looks more like Filmation than the vintage toy does...so I say a mix of Filmation and 200X, but more 200X, because the vintage toy lacked a lot that screamed Mantenna, and the Filmation was sort of puny, but more accurate to what he should look like, then 200X made him look less scrawny, and more detailed...and had what the FIlmation look started, and all that the vintage lacked...I have the vintage one, and he is also one of my wanted figures, to make my collection complete....since my core Classics collection is to get all the vintage figures I used to have..the rest to me are bonus.

I'd like it to be mixed. Keep vintage colors. But no doubt the 4H are going to sculpt multiple legs for this guy. The detail will be there b/c the 4H kick **s.

Staction body beefed up to MOTUC standards, a Filmation influenced head, and a little vintage sprinkled throughout. My sister had the vintage figure, and we were both disappointed it looked nothing like Mantenna in the cartoon.

The lower body half should REALLY go more staction. As if they do that, it will allow them to create the multiple leg crotch connector that can also be used for a multi leg modulok figure

- I love the Vintage Mentena
- I hate the Filmation Mentena because that looks like a woman
- The 200x Mentena is too thin (like the Filmations representation) and has to mutch bulging eyes and for this is the head to small.

- And i love the Vintage Interpart Mentena:

I felt that the staction was the best version of him, That being said, I also want the eye stalks to be an option, extended and in! this could be done with two heads or having two sets of eyes, that could be popped out and replaced!

Because of the staction thread on the forums, I put the Mantenna staction with the Classics Horde. He fits in with the bunch BEAUTIFULLY, reaffirming my opinion that a Mantenna figure should look like the staction!

Yep! I used to display him there until I made a separate staction display...but he is going to go back there I don't know how I will like Mantenna using the standard male buck, he just may look to bulky for my tastes. I don't think of mantenna being very physically powerful and more on the slender side.
