Great review PD, I really can't wait for this guy. He turned out perfect in my opinion.

Looks like a really beautiful figure. It's a real shame about the swords. I may, for the first time ever, be motivated to buy some paint and apply the detail myself!

I'm also glad that I have two subs, so I do have two of each of the styles of swords.

Yay! Your videos are what brought MOTUC to my attention. I've missed them!

I see a little Loo Kee peeking out from the corner towards the end.

MELIAC in MOTUC! We need a mutant, alien, cyclops, reformed baddie, sheriff in the mix!

    thanks dan!

naturally, im psyched for this figure ... the sculpt is beautiful, and the colours are so cool ...

even though the head sculpt isn't/can't be modelled on de longis himself - i still think the 4H have managed to capture his likeness is essence,to a degree ...

i am a little confused about the mismatched swords, but perhaps we will see the doubles in another release going forward (saurod could be low on accessories) ... ?? ... anyway, im optimistic!!! ... i guess the great nods to the '87 movie in detail and design more than make up for it ...

either way great review!!! and cannot wait to get my favourite MOTU character of all time in classics form!!! ...

Dan, are you still doing reviews on modulok and glimmer despite not receiving samples?
Making sure the vintage line is fully reproduced in the classics line

Blade came out great! Honestly, I don't even mind the loss of deco on the swords, because I understand why when looking at how beautiful the actual figure is painted.
Let's get HUNGA THE HARPY before 2016!

Great review. Does anybody else remember the old magazine issue, where in the comic/story that was in it, both Blade AND Saurod were helping Hordak?

I think he is just okay. Not a fan of the movie styling at all.

I would have for sure preferred to ditch the chain mail in favor of more weapons and/or weapon deco.

Sweet. Definitely looking forward to this guy; absolutely my favorite character from the movie (besides Langella's Skeletor), but never got him as a kid. Kind of sucks about the sword, but I think I'll be giving him the 200x Power Sword anyway. Still probably paint them for looks though.

That armor looks super fat and bulky, especially the oversized shoulder pads. I don't like this figure at all

    Awesome figure and great review!
Shame about them going cheap on the swords, I will just display him with the whip and the one sword that is painted.

The face kinda looks like Michael Ironside to me. General Katana meets the Shredder?

I think Mattel did well with choosing which paint hits to cut back on on the figure itself, as it still look great (and the unpainted studs make the figure look slightly more "vintage" inspired ), but the lack of paint on the swords completely ruins them.

Surely all 4 of Blade's swords with full paint MUST now be the #1 priority for the next Weapons Pak (if there ever is another).
My #1 most wanted figure in MotUC?

Great job Dan! Blade looks sweet, but those swords look pathetic without any paint Looks like your vintage figure comes with a laser whip of his own ( in his left hand)

Excellent review and since I always paint on my figures the lack of any sword detail isn't a deal breaker for me.

Awesome review, Dan! Swords and armor don't bug me nearly as much as the floppy rubber 'ear wings'. Can see already that when the figure arrives many of these are going to come with bent wings requiring the hot/cold treatment. BLAH!

    "...uses his DUEL blades..."???
    Duel?

    Dual, for crying out loud.

Honestly, who IS the genius writing the copy for these bios?

    Great review, as usual, Dan!

Psst... remember they were written in 2009 back when the line first started. Scott was probably just a worse speller back then.

Spelling? Oh, it's SPELLED correctly...it's just the wrong word!
I swear, I don't know which is worse; the "author's" ability to create fiction, or his grasp of the English language...

Perhaps he has a special set that he only uses for dueling. His "Duel Blades".

    ........

Well, that would be MY excuse if I wrote it...
