Because a few of you asked and because I wanted to anyway (

), I drew a final of the sketch I posted.

My arm hurts....I need to draw more!

Looks really great. fantastic linework and a great reimagining of the character and great attention to detail. Makes him look bad*ss for a change :-)

The only thing that throws me off is that the perspective of the archway is wrong. The wall is perpendicular to the viewers line of sight, so the archway should be seen in a central perspective, with the lines converging on a central vanishing point.

Please bear in mind that this ist a critique at a very high level ;-)

I don't agree that the archway is wrong.
The perspective ist quite alright at the arc. That what irritates may be the black actionlines going towards Orko.
Your examples, TuShan, are from a higher point of view and in the middle of the doorway.
The camera/viewer in Tyree's image whoever is almost on the ground and slightly to the left from the door, so we see the depth of the wall from that doorway.

This is a great piece of work, i like it a lot. And if there would be ever a hero Orko in some Universe, this would make a great one.

LOL! Believe it or not, I've been doing this for a while and I know how to draw perspective. Fact of the matter is, I just drew the arch freehand and, frankly, didn't really care if it was off.

Not like I was getting paid for this. I was just having fun.
But, still don't quite agree that the doorway needs to be perpendicular to the viewer. The right side is further away, but since the horizon line is rather low, there's no extreme angle to the bottom of the wall that would make it more evident. I could have added more downward angles to the stone joints toward the top of the page though.
It's definitely not dead-on accurate, and I could pick it apart all day long (and not just perspective) but it's also definitely not as far off as all that!

As I said, this was high-level nitpicking

I called the arch perpendicular because the floor line and the brick structure ist parallel to the x-axis of the image, which makes the wall perpendicular to the viewer's line of sight. I still think this is a fantastic piece

LOL! Glad I could help with that! Personally, I've always thought of Orko as the Jar Jar Binks of MOTU. Always wanted him to actually do something right...and not by accident! :-D I guess we got one episode where he was somewhat cool.

Man, I missed me some Tyree art. Simply stunning. This is kinda like a Battle-Armour Orko variant. :P

Makes me sad we never got to see Orko like this in the MYP cartoon.
