Mattel Still Searching For a "Home" For Mini-Masters

I just saw this answer from TG and thought it was interesting:

BatmanJack:It's been a while now, but we saw Action League incarnations of MOTUC at one of the cons. Will these figures ever see the light of day? I would love to snap up every single one!
Toyguru:We are still trying to find a home for these. Each fig is a full tool so it is not easy.

These are what they look like for those who forget or never saw them:

The home for them is in my collection :O Seriously though, I wonder if Mattel could option these out to Funko as the manufacturer since they are pretty much completely sculpted and ready to be produced.

I can understand...I wish they could just sell 'em straight out, but they're gona need more than us few to get it going. I would LOVE them in stores. Honestly I think that's a great little way to at least get the brand name out there - just aim 'em at collectors and they'll find a way into the hands of kids.

They are all hyper-anime detailed......and that look is retired.

I assume he means a retail home. I can see why none of the retailers would want to take a chance on them. TRU is probably soured on MOTU thanks to the DC/MOTU two packs and Wally World or Target probably couldn't be bothered without some sort of media hype.

I hate to say it, but if I were in charge what I would do is shrink down the upper body slightly, re-sculpt them so the whole figure is a single mold and turn them into happy meal toys. I'd make a deal with McDonald's for menu and front window ads and a couple television commercials for a couple months or so and see what kind of buzz is generated by that. Then I would approach Wal-Mart with a couple waves of two packs. I'd probably try and throw some 3 or 4 panel comic strip on the happy meal package and on the retail packs.

Of course, this would only work if Mattel was serious about developing the MOTU IP.

I'd rather they stick to MOTUC as the only MOTU figures.

I could be wrong, but my guess is that the armor isn't removable and that they don't move from the waist down, meaning the only shared parts would be some of the arms and some of the lower halves.

I think they are fantastic and am disappointed that there hasn't been any traction on them yet. Hey Scott, think outside the box and run a Kickstarter on them, and run them completely outside MOTUC.

These are great, and a nice way for fans whose pockets aren't as deep to show some MOTU love.

Really wishing that the home would be Matty collector and not a retail store somewhere in the states. Cmon Matty. Clearly classics are doing well, miniatures would too.

    I'm SO on board!!!
Not to sound like a creepy cheerleader for Uki, but it's nice to know there is at least one person on this forum who is extremely positive & friendly all the time. I don't think I could be that nice even if you paid me. If we ever give out awards for "forum member of the month", Uki gets my vote. -Mr. Shokoti

Why must everything be disproportionate now a days? Cartoon characters, CGI characters, action figures, etc. I can't stand it!

I really hope they go with the vintage packaging for these. An extra head with each figure would be nice.

Head + armor + weapon = One tool is what I'm sure Scott's intent was.

Sneak em into retail via Playskool.
Two-packs with a mini comic or DVD to explain em to kids.
    test the market...
Add Teela & EvilLyn. MOTU was Popular with young girls...It could be again.

    2nd!
"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments" (Matthew 22:36-40).

I would buy all of these... No questions asked.

I'd actually consider ditching the MOTUC line completely to collect these!

No news on these guys from SDCC huh? I wish Mattel would just hurry up and make them already. Just put them up on Mattycollector or something, I'd buy 3 of each.
