MOTUC Malik the Wizard of Stone Mountain

Hey all, I was just wondering if anyone out there was as into the idea of a MOTUC version of Teela's old flame (in his mind) Malik, the Wizard of Stone Mountain?

Personally speaking, I thought there was a lot of potential for this character story-wise and I would have loved to see him earn a place as a Master and help combat Skeletor's warrior's warriors. Aside from Orko's crazy, mixed up magic, I think the Masters need a heroic sorcerer and Malik would fit the bill.

Not to mention the fact, I would love to see how the 4 Horsemen could fix him up. True his cartoon outfit was a bit plain, but if they could make him something cool for a uniform or armor, so much the better!

I want this figure SO much!!!! With a little Lokus accessory/figure (like Zoar/Screech)!!

I think he looks a little boring... but would probably be a pretty easy build.

Prince adam from the waist up. Bow's pants... I don't know... Keldor's boots?

It would be nice for the good guys to get a little sorcerer might on their side. Orko sucks, and Sorceress is stuck in the castle... They're a little overwhelmed by Skeletor, Evil lyn, Marzo, etc...

I think if they gave him Adam costume repainted green, but added a new head and maybe some magic attachment and Lokus, it'd be a worthwhile figure. Like many Filmation designs, Mallek is one that needs a little more detail in the translation to a figure.

Just imaging what the 4 Horsemen could accomplish with a new design for this character!

If they ever release this character, it shouldn't be before 2016 in any case.

There are so many cooler characters to release before such a plain and boring guy, IMO.

I'd definitely like to get Malik; I think a more detailed vest (some design sculpted in to liven it up) and the sleeves for the upper arm (which could then be re-used for Malaktha) and a new head would do it. Add in a Lokus mini-figure and he'd be set.

He appeared in more episodes than Fangman, who is already getting a figure.

And it isn't about how great a costume he has; a lot of folks like me care about getting specific characters as well as cool looking figures. Malaktha is about as mundane as it gets as far as his outfit goes, but he was a recurring character that was important to the story, and I'd like him on that count alone. Same with Malik.

No. Even if he's updated by the Horsemen, he's boring. I know the Filmation characters were designed to be drawing quickly and easily, but green tunic with and dark green "pedal pushers" and a Dairy Queen swirl hairdo? Really?

I couldn't agree more!

Dekker isn't the most interesting looking character in MOTU but he is light years ahead of this generic looking guy from Sherwood Forest.

I felt the same way about Count Marzo based on his Shakespearean Filmation appearance. I'm so glad he got a more MOTU update in MYP. Imaging what they could have done with Malik had he been introduced in the 2002 cartoon.
